Halibut House Fish and Chips

the pricing is ridiculous 15.95 for one piece of battered fish and it was mainly batter asked for sweet potatoes fries got regular fries. coffee was awful so strong. my hubbie had 22.00 meal with a grilled fish no bigger than 3×3 and a garden salad mainly Lettuce one piece of tomatoes and 3 pieces of red onion. never going back!!!!

at the markham and kingston road location in Scarborough, The male server was very rude with my family on family day from not allowing us to chose the table we preferred although the restaurant was empty, to rushing us to order, to acting surprised when i asked the dishwasher to get his attention to clarify my order which was placed at the table when i was in the washroom. The fries were very hard and not tasty. For 21$ a meal this is not the service/customer treatment, or quality of food one would hope for or expect. It seemed he was giving an ungrateful attitude for our business. He even said "dont come back if this is how you behave" when i called him out on rushing us to pay, when i let him know i will pay now but not be rushing myself to finish my meal at any point soon. I tipped very miminal, because it actually felt like he didnt deserve a tip at all for his unaccomadating , impatient and impolite attitude..Good luck. I really hope this location does something about the poor customer service skills of this man, because this isnt a new issue. He was rude and unaccomadating last time to even a few years ago, this restaurant wont be able to stay in business very long if they treat all customers in such an ungrateful manner.

They gave us little candies after the lunch, it was a great experience to try sea food in a good price.

I like how they gave you a lot of options for the sauce for the salads, i chose Italian and Ranch sauces✨

Halibut House was so delicious! Batter was light and crispy, wasn’t oily and heavy. Haddock was cooked perfectly, so soft. Fries and souvlaki chicken were up to normal standards!

my first time trying the halibut house really impressed I ❤️ there french fries really delicious food 😋 😍

Ordered Greek omelette. No salt and the chef/ manager, Lisa forgot to add Feta cheese.
I asked to remake it but she said I already made what you ordered. I will make and charge for the next one. .
I refused and left the food but was charged the full amount for that. Potatoes were bland, no salt or taste.

We went to the one in Nepean bc they have takeout, service was fast and food smelt amazing but when we got home and started to eat the food it had no taste and was bland and seams like they cook the fish and the fries in the same oil, for the price we paid we won’t be going there again

We went here for fish and chips specifically and it was sooooo good!!!! The staff maintains place clean and well maintained. Even the bathrooms are sparkling clean. Great family friendly place!

Just had their Greek chicken souvlaki with rice and salad and I was actually surprised at how delicious it was coming from a fish house. The rest of my party had the fish and chips of various varieties and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and were full and it was cooked to perfection.

halibut was overcooked and dry, batter was not good and lacked taste, fries were mushie. my first time trying it. last time too.
