The most stressful customer service interaction I’ve ever had.

I visited this McDonald’s today around 1:40 pm and had one of the most uncomfortable customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

I ordered a medium coffee with 5 milk on the side. The employee who prepared my order seemed confused by this and, without asking for clarification, returned with a full black coffee in a medium cup and a single small cup half-filled with milk, instead of the usual individually packaged milk. He left no room in the cup to add milk.

When I returned to politely ask if I could simply have a larger cup so I could add the milk, the same employee became dismissive and aggressive, repeatedly cutting me off mid-sentence and interrogating me about my original order. I was only asking for a cup, yet he abruptly decided to remake the coffee instead without listening to what I was actually saying.

His attitude escalated further when he came back and give me the new coffee and the individually packed milk I didn’t ask for: he spoke to me sarcastically, interrupted me multiple times, suddenly grabbed the milk out of my hands without asking. He repeatedly asked, in an irritated tone, whether this was “what I wanted,” while continuing to cut me off and rush me. His body language and tone were aggressive and made it very clear he wanted me to leave rather than resolve the issue.

When I expressed concern and asked what was going on, he immediately escalated the situation unnecessarily by threatening to involve a manager, even though I was calm and simply trying to explain myself.

The manager was polite and apologetic, which I appreciate, but the employee continued working beside her as if nothing had happened.

To make matters worse, the “new” coffee I was given was only half full. After adding the milk, the cup was still about 1/3 empty. I had to return to the counter again just to ask for the coffee to be filled properly.

The entire experience was stressful, unprofessional, and anxiety-inducing. I felt rushed, dismissed, and treated with hostility over a very simple order. I understand fast food is a stressful environment, but that does not justify aggressive behavior or refusing to listen to a customer.

This was especially disappointing as it happened on Christmas Eve, and it completely ruined what should have been a calm moment. The older male employee involved clearly needs better training in communication, stress management, and basic customer service.

I would strongly caution others about visiting this location.

Do not come here at night time you can only get your order from the drive thru and they take forever. It feels so funny to write a review on a McDonald's restaurant but go somewhere else at night!

I emailed head office about Merivale Rd # 1552 location. No response.
That explains the behaviour of their managers. Obviously it comes from the top.
I asked for a bag for 3 orders I placed in the drive-thru. When I got to the window my orders were in one bag. I reminded them I needed 3 bags as my visitors were in different cars. The young girl handed me empty bags and said my manager said 'tell her to do it herself'. I was more than upset, I waited until I got home so I could calm down. I called the manager Adam and he was so rude I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Unbelievable, what happened to customer service. I guess Mcdonald's has gotten too big and no longer needs to provide respectful service. Shame on you all.

Waited an extremely long time in the drive thru in the middle of the night. Turns out they forgot about my order after they told me to park at the second window. I knocked on the window to get there attention. They were just standing around talking to each other. My order was ready a long time ago.
