Little local-haunt; expect a cozy, small-town vibe and simple but well done 'family kitchen' meals. If you value consistency, and getting to know the staff and having community where you eat, you'll love this place and it's people. Our go-to items are breakfast, or burgers but, everything is great.

I've been here only once for a breakfast sandwich which was good. Cool little dinner/coffee place. Had coffee & sandwich for 7$ which is unusual for Ottawa where even breakfast are typically 15 - 20$ range nowadays.

Classic Canadian diner. Classic Canadian breakfast. Sweet spot wonderful homey service. Good quality breakfast cooked to order. Had the 2 egg breakfast coffee bacon homefries. 10 bucks folks !! Amazing value Good food highly recommended. Take a step back in time bring a newspaper if you can find one.

The fish and chips are as good today as they were 20 years ago when my grandparents used to bring me. And under $10 for the takeout is an insane value for a tasy meal.

I believe in reviewing based on the actual place and what you’re paying for. This place deserves a five star based on the fact that the service is friendly, fast and the food is fresh. I had scrambled eggs, coffee, sausages, toast and fresh home cooked hash browns - so yummy. This cost me $7.50! (The only reason I rated the atmosphere a 3 out of five was because it needs a thorough cleaning / Reno) However, the vibe/atmosphere at 8:30am on Saturday morning was fabulous. Only one seat left in the whole restaurant!! Will come back for sure :) …and to all those negative reviewers - please be kind and don’t rate a small diner business with low prices against a more expensive place. I was welcomed with a good morning and served coffee and breaky with a smile. Thanks Mello’s

starting with pro- good coffee and reasonably priced. con- old school place, eating here feels like you're eating in a little rural town from the 60s, if you're into that. we had breakfast sandwiches, nothing to rave about. for me, it was a one off experience to support local.
