We were really up for some fish and chips and we were not disappointed with this place! Delicious food, very generous portions and the staff and server were great!
Ordered the deep fried pickles (prickles) and two orders of haddock and chips. The fish was tasty and perfect amount of batter, and the fries are exactly what you would expect from a traditional fish and chips spot.

My girlfriend knew that I love authentic fish and chips so she took me on my birthday to this fantastic spot where we had never been before. We tried both the haddock and halibut, and I was blown away with how good it was. The portion sizes were very generous with huge, tender and lightly battered pieces of fish paired with a mountain of freshly cut fries, served with some delicious in house tartar sauce. It’s rare to find a place that doesn’t skimp on the tartar, but they gave us plenty without hesitation. I do not eat a lot of salt in my food and they were able to compensate me by making my fish and fries without salt and it still tasted amazing. The service was top-notch. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed. We met the owner, who was very welcoming and he took the time to chat with us. The restaurant itself was spotless, from the dining area to the restrooms, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. All in all, this was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely be coming back. There really needs to be more fish and chips places like this where the quality, service, and atmosphere all come together so perfectly! The pictures don’t do justice!

I brought my Fish & Chip enthusiast boyfriend here for his birthday and we were very pleased. The atmopshere is very cozy, welcoming and on-brand themed. The washrooms are also very clean. Our server was very pleasant and the kitchen was able to accomodate his salt sensitivty (no-salt order) on his food. The portion was very generous and hearty. Fresh cut fries and crispy fish. Can't get any better!

Chip+Malt offers an incredible dining experience! The burger was juicy, fresh, and full of flavour. The poutine had crispy fries smothered in rich gravy and cheese curds. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality food. A must-visit!

Chip+Malt serves some of the freshest and crisp fried fish I have had in York Region. Portion sizes are generous, I was amazed that the fish hung off the edge of the plate on my first visit. Tartar sauce is made in house so that is nice as well. the menu has a number of non-fish/seafood items if you are going in a group and want other options. Restaurant is kept fairly clean, in a pseudo- British decor, and the staff are friendly.

Normally we really love the food but 2 weeks ago it was the worst piece of fish 2x4x1/3" of grey rubbery goodness. Thankfully they did not charge us for the meal after we complained. The chips were delicious though.

Lovely stuff members and great fish and chips location in a local pub located on historical main street. Close to public parking at the back of the restaurant. Server recommended to switch up chips for seafood chowder was a great choice. Would recommend switch it up as well as you can see it comes with lots of fries.

We booked Chip and Malt for a private event with around 60 people. The staff were so kind, organized and helpful! With short notice they were able to customize a menu and ensure everything was executed smoothly. The food was exceptional I had so many compliments from our friends and family. I couldn’t be happier with the service and food, highly recommend I wish I could give 10 stars!!!

I've known this Main Street gem since it opened! It was great then, it's great now! I'm not from the area, so when I head up I like to visit spots I know and can trust. Chip+Malt is definitely one of them. The fish, the salad and the desserts they have are perfect for that craving I get for fish & chips. You gotta try it! family run and operated too, its great to see that!
