It’s dark and moody with ambient lighting and that intoxicating aroma of freshly ground beans. Was a very busy weekend morning, so seats were a bit of a challenge. We ended up finding a spot at a long family-style table shared by others, yet it still had that intimate and cozy feeling that pairs so perfectly with a hot cappuccino between your hands.Was pleasantly surprised to discover they have ‘laptop free’ zones… I completely understand the desire for remote workers to set up shop in their favourite café (I mean I would, if I could) BUT, I can’t tell you how frustrated I have been in other coffee shops where there is not a seat to be found and every single table is occupied by an individual laptop owner, clad in headphones and a day’s worth of coffee cups accumulating at the end of their table. I love that Metropolis has thoughtfully carved out spaces specifically for remote workers, while keeping a large area for casual patrons to uphold the social integrity of a genuine coffee house!Beyond the café tables is the most interesting little shop of curated goods. From modern clothing to vintage collectibles, books, stationary, home goods, jewelry… spent a good hour browsing all the fun little finds.Metropolis is not a quick-stop coffee joint. I mean I guess it could be if you wanted to grab and go, but why would you come here and not want to sit and sip a while? I will definitely be coming back!”

They have a lot of regulars there and you could tell as everyone was so positive! “When I'm in town, this is my hidden gem of a getaway within the city. Quaint tables are nestled away with mood lighting and ambient music. I couldn't be more pleased with the food! I couldn't help myself with having some garlic bread before snapping a pic. Amanda, RJ and the other staff are always pleasant and provide prompt service. I like to stow away and work away from the office, and they make the best Almond Milk Cappuccino's I've had. The froth was heavenly. “Nestled beside a small river with large windows overlooking, this wonderful little pub just exudes the ambiance of an English pub. Welcoming on the outside and cosy on the inside, the servers made it seem easy despite serving two large groups as well as our little table for two and others. The buzz of chatting people and the wonderful bar complete the feeling. Our food and drink arrived promptly. The fish and chips were very acceptable, not heavily battered or oily and the accompanying fries were fine. The coleslaw was not to my liking but meh, if that's all I can complain about then it's not worth mentioning.”

I have a severe allergy to pineapple and both girls went above and beyond to make sure that there was no cross-contamination. Sarah went into the freezer and got fruit from freshly opened bags, and Danielle read threw the ingredients on the juice to make sure that there was no pineapple in it. “This is a 100 % Hong Kong style restaurant, you can see it from the interior design and the food they serve, My first time visited this restaurant and I think they opened for business not too long ago. Tonight is a Sunday night, business is good. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have set menu for breakfast, lunch , afternoon tea and dinner. The set included soup, main course and a drink. The main course is in good portion . The 5 dinner sets we have ordered were very good. We will come again because it's close to our home.”

It’s dark and moody with ambient lighting and that intoxicating aroma of freshly ground beans. Was a very busy weekend morning, so seats were a bit of a challenge. We ended up finding a spot at a long family-style table shared by others, yet it still had that intimate and cozy feeling that pairs so perfectly with a hot cappuccino between your hands.Was pleasantly surprised to discover they have ‘laptop free’ zones… I completely understand the desire for remote workers to set up shop in their favourite café (I mean I would, if I could) BUT, I can’t tell you how frustrated I have been in other coffee shops where there is not a seat to be found and every single table is occupied by an individual laptop owner, clad in headphones and a day’s worth of coffee cups accumulating at the end of their table. I love that Metropolis has thoughtfully carved out spaces specifically for remote workers, while keeping a large area for casual patrons to uphold the social integrity of a genuine coffee house!Beyond the café tables is the most interesting little shop of curated goods. From modern clothing to vintage collectibles, books, stationary, home goods, jewelry… spent a good hour browsing all the fun little finds.Metropolis is not a quick-stop coffee joint. I mean I guess it could be if you wanted to grab and go, but why would you come here and not want to sit and sip a while? I will definitely be coming back!”
