“Went for dinner tonight with a large group of 30 ppl half kids. Place was busy service was friendly but due to the large size was rather slow. Food is just ok, had veal and potatoes plus the bread and salad. It was $120 for 4 ppl 2 adults and 2 kids which included drinks so the price is fair. If you have picky eaters then consider east sides as most kids will eat pasta or pizza. And again the staff was great i’m just not the biggest fan of the food.”

“We were a party of 4 and was seated promptly. They accomodated my 2 kids with small bowls and utensils. We had the popcorn chicken, chicken max noodle and the beef fried noodle.Popcorn chicken was good!The chicken max noodle..the chicken was the same cooking style as the popcorn chicken;however, when I received it it was like cold compared to the popcorn dish I already received which was hot.The beef fried noodle is always my fav coming here. Good flavor and beef. Definitely recommend.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and wooden forks for kids. They'll also give your kids water instead of tea.”

“The best fish & chips I’ve had in the GTA. We did take out and we drove for 10mins to get home. The fish was still so crispy! The batter was non-greasy and with the malt vinegar, it really brought out the flavour. We ordered the Halibut (2 pieces) and chips - the portion is amazingly generous. Can’t wait to come back!”

It’s dark and moody with ambient lighting and that intoxicating aroma of freshly ground beans. Was a very busy weekend morning, so seats were a bit of a challenge. We ended up finding a spot at a long family-style table shared by others, yet it still had that intimate and cozy feeling that pairs so perfectly with a hot cappuccino between your hands.Was pleasantly surprised to discover they have ‘laptop free’ zones… I completely understand the desire for remote workers to set up shop in their favourite café (I mean I would, if I could) BUT, I can’t tell you how frustrated I have been in other coffee shops where there is not a seat to be found and every single table is occupied by an individual laptop owner, clad in headphones and a day’s worth of coffee cups accumulating at the end of their table. I love that Metropolis has thoughtfully carved out spaces specifically for remote workers, while keeping a large area for casual patrons to uphold the social integrity of a genuine coffee house!Beyond the café tables is the most interesting little shop of curated goods. From modern clothing to vintage collectibles, books, stationary, home goods, jewelry… spent a good hour browsing all the fun little finds.Metropolis is not a quick-stop coffee joint. I mean I guess it could be if you wanted to grab and go, but why would you come here and not want to sit and sip a while? I will definitely be coming back!”
