Mine was topped with spinach and roasted peppers.As far as atmosphere goes, it's just a walk-in next to a gas bar so its not really atmospheric but the energy is good and I can't posiibly give them less than 5 stars.”

Situated downtown Mount Albert, it is a quaint, simple, welcoming place with a variety of sweet or savory companions to a coffee. They even carry take-out meals. It was great discovery. A unique place, with lots of character. We are certain the locals love it. Passing through? We suggest making a stop there.”

We are a large family of 7 and they were able to seat us relatively quickly. It could be big city ignorance but i wasn’t expecting the food to be as good as it was. “Came on a warm day in the afternoon, got the poutine and man was I happy. They cut the fries fresh outside and drop them into the fryer, cheese curds are very high quality and gravy is the perfect consistency. Have come multiple times when I pass through and will continue to come back. 100% one of the best poutines I've had outside of Ottawa/Quebec area. Comes out very hot, and fresh!”

“Went for dinner tonight with a large group of 30 ppl half kids. Place was busy service was friendly but due to the large size was rather slow. Food is just ok, had veal and potatoes plus the bread and salad. It was $120 for 4 ppl 2 adults and 2 kids which included drinks so the price is fair. If you have picky eaters then consider east sides as most kids will eat pasta or pizza. And again the staff was great i’m just not the biggest fan of the food.”

“We were a party of 4 and was seated promptly. They accomodated my 2 kids with small bowls and utensils. We had the popcorn chicken, chicken max noodle and the beef fried noodle.Popcorn chicken was good!The chicken max noodle..the chicken was the same cooking style as the popcorn chicken;however, when I received it it was like cold compared to the popcorn dish I already received which was hot.The beef fried noodle is always my fav coming here. Good flavor and beef. Definitely recommend.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and wooden forks for kids. They'll also give your kids water instead of tea.”

“My hubby and I went to J’s for the first time today. The food was excellent! We both had halibut and chips which came with generous servings of fresh halibut fresh cut fries, home made coleslaw and tartar sauce. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection! I’m sorry that I don’t have any pictures to share, we were very hungry. We also had the opportunity to have a lovely conversation with the owner J. He told us all about his history in the food industry and with Fish and Chips in general. He explained to us why so many fish and chips restaurants are disappointing and don’t get the food right. J has been in business for over 30 years in various locations and it shows. We will be back again soon. We are thrilled to have found our fish and chips go-to.”

“Integrity and kindness! Uber Eats dropped off someone else’s pizza order at my door (I ordered from another store entirely) and I wasn’t able to get in touch with Uber or the driver. So, I reached out to Papillon on messenger, and even though it was after hours, they responded right away to make it right for their customer. It wasn’t their mistake at all yet they still went out of their way to do this! They told me to enjoy the food while they make another one fresh for their original customer. I just thought that was so kind. And the food is great! I will be ordering from Papillon in the future.”

“The food here is delicious! Passes the kid test too. We have been there twice and the food has not disappointed. The beef kebabs were out of this world, and the pickled carrots and cucumber were crisp and delicious. The crispy noodles are a family favourite, just so crisp and when they soak up the gravy, YUM! We’ve previously had the pho and the flavours of the broth is one of the best I’ve had. It seems the next dish to try is the Pad Thai!”
