The hot and sour soup recipe that Cynthia's has had for years is now gone, and it has been replaced by a strange and disappointing new recipe. The soup now primarily tastes like starch and has a weird overall flavor that does not resemble the traditional hot and sour soup that I've come to expect from Cynthia’s. Considering the price they charge, the poor quality of the soup on multiple occasions is unacceptable, and I will not be returning to Cynthia's.

Disappointing experience at a restaurant we frequent quite regularly. I placed a $300 order and picked it up at 630. The food came and the order looked a bit light so I told them I don’t believe the order was complete. They assured me it was so I drove 15 mins home, only to realize the order wasn’t complete. I drove 15 mins back and asked for some compensation explaining I had a house full of hungry people waiting for me. The compensation offered was a free spring roll for next time and that was all they could do. Insulting. The food quality has also declined. The chicken balls are all batter and very little chicken. I will not be returning to Cynthia’s.

This is a rating on the behaviour of the manager. He was overly aggressive with my three year old putting his hand on my child's hand when my kid was touching the chop stick holder. That is unacceptable on many levels. You don't touch a child's hand to stop him from doing something , instead you should tell the mother. Secondly, when I was speaking to the gentleman who was taking my order, my kid reached for the soya sauce. The manager LIRERALLY walked SO fast towards the table like he was in a panic h6while I was having a conversation and took away the soya sauce. This time I did speak up and stood up for my kid who didn't even so anything wrong at that point. I said its not necessary for you to be so aggressive towards a child . He began giving me excuses how he didn't want the soya sauce to spill on any of my things
That's an obvious lie. He was worried about the presentation and possible spill on the carpet. Don't tell me you are worried about my things or my son please. So literally lying to my face. We felt very unwelcome. The only nice person was the woman who was serving us and have us our drinks and gave the bill. The manager needs training in better customer service for people with kids. Very shocked and a bit disturbed about the experience

We recently dined at Cynthia’s Chinese Restaurant in Newmarket and had a great experience. The standout dish was definitely the Lemon Chicken—it was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of tangy and savory flavors. The service was excellent, with attentive staff making sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal.
As for the Fried Rice, it was good, but not my favorite. It was flavorful and well-cooked, but I’ve had other versions that were a bit more to my taste. Overall, though, the meal was solid, and the Lemon Chicken alone is worth a visit.

Have been looking for a new Chinese take out place.
Ordered, chicken balls, lemon chicken, Lo mein, black pepper beef, beef and broccoli, wonton soup, egg rolls.
The people were nice. Ordering simple.
Got home and the there was an ok volume of food.
However overall the food wasn't great. Black pepper beef was bland and not really spicy. The chicken balls were really hard. But the chicken was decent. The lemon chicken wasn't great. The broccoli was the best part of the beef and broccoli.
To be clear. It wasn't bad. But it wasn't great either.
I suppose I am still on the look for a take out spot.

First time back in a few years because of moving out of town. Table for 6, and all dishes were dropped at the table and not individually served like in the past. The hot towels came to the table after the first course had been served. The hostess was downright rude rushing us to pay the bill even after being asked give us a few minutes. Just stood there waiting and staring us down. We wanted to eliminate the tip completely, but felt bad for the 2 waiters even though they pretty much just dropped everything off and ran. Cynthia's has never been cheap, but the food was always worth the price. No longer, now that we got the bum's rush out of there. So disappointed.

This was my first visit to the restaurant, and it will undoubtedly be my last. Although the food was satisfactory, the staff was exceptionally rude to us regarding tips. We paid by debit card and intended to leave a cash tip, but the waitress did not wait for that. As soon as she noticed there were no tips, she tossed the receipt at us. This made me feel upset, and I decided not to leave a tip. As we were leaving the restaurant, we were confronted by another server who made a comment, saying, "So no tips today?" I have never experienced such disrespect before.

I recently visited cyntias and had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. The restaurant was filthy,
The overall hygiene was severely lacking, making me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly rude. From the moment we walked in, they acted as if our presence was an inconvenience. They were unhelpful, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in providing any level of decent service.
What truly shocked me, however, was the overt racism displayed by the staff. Their behavior and comments towards customers of different ethnicities were appalling and unacceptable. It's disgraceful and deeply concerning that such attitudes are tolerated and expressed in a public establishment.
I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Avoid this place at all costs if you value cleanliness, good service, and basic human decency.
