I genuinely don’t understand how this place is so highly rated. I ordered a poutine, and it was essentially soup. The chicken strips tasted like they came straight from the frozen section of a discount store—dry, flavorless, and reminiscent of cardboard. The bacon was so thin it could barely be seen, let alone tasted.
The worst part, however, was discovering a thick curly black hair baked right between the two hash browns we ordered. None of us have black hair, so it was clearly not ours. When we brought this to the waiter’s attention, they simply said, “Oh, I see that,” but left the plate sitting on our table for 15 minutes. We finally had to move it ourselves to the counter. The resolution? They refunded us for only ONE hash brown, even though the other was part of the same contaminated plate—something we had already eaten before noticing the hair.
In short, the food is mediocre at best, with low-quality ingredients that taste straight out of the freezer. The lack of basic hygiene, including the absence of hairnets, is alarming, and the service is indifferent and dismissive. It’s my observation that neither the quality of the food nor customer satisfaction is a priority here.
I rarely write reviews, but this experience was bad enough to warrant one. I will not be returning and have already warned friends and family in the area to avoid this place.

I believe your meals would taste better using a different oil to cook the food in. Thank you.
A great old-school breakfast diner vibe with friendly fast service . When I pictured steak and eggs , I got exactly what I wanted. Judging by the constant traffic this place is well liked by the community. Every town has that secret breakfast spot, looks like by cheer luck I found the one in Newmarket. Will be back 100%.

Went here based on reviews and since they are family owned. Me and my wife ordered the 6.99$ special - 3 eggs with toast and fries. They asked how we wanted our eggs. We said we will get omlette. They didn't mention anything of upcharge for omlette style. At the time of billing , they gave me total bill of 24.95$. When I confronted they reduced it to 21.95$, still not accurate. It should have been 15.95$. I have been to multiple other breakfast places in the area. But didnt come across this bizarre practice. Their service is non existent as well

Really good cook on my "over easy" eggs.
3 small eggs, 4 slices of bacon, 2 pieces of Texas toast, and a huge pile of excellent home fries, all for $9.45...
Highly recommend this place for Breakfast or Lunch.
Very friendly service, prompt delivery of our order, free newspapers to read if you're a solo dinner.
It's not the most modern place, but good atmosphere.
A rather large menu, lots of choices for both breakfast or lunch items.
From Smoked salmon Eggs Benedict to Homemade fresh Hamburgers...
There is both a Seniors Menu, and a children's menu.
A local family owned business, so give them a try...
Parking: Located in a strip mall

Went to Happy based on Google Reviews to have a family breakfast with my family as my son was here from BC. Not a “ trendy” atmosphere but a good old diner experience with Great service. The server was fun and easy to laugh with. Food came quickly and did not disappoint. We never felt rushed and had time to talk. Good coffee too. This restaurant is one of Newmarket’s hidden gems. I will return.

I enjoyed a pretty regular Canadian breakfast here. The home fries were perfect! The bacon was done just how I like it - slightly crispy, but not burnt. The over easy eggs were cooked well, with the yolks still runny. Delicious without being greasy.

I go with my mom and dad about once every 6 weeks or so. However, they go much more often. Ivy knows exactly what they want for drinks and usually what they would like to eat. She's always smiling and has a great sense of humor. It's a busy little place and the food is aways amazing !
