Just tried Milbree-Viking Bakery and I’m absolutely in love! Their Finnish pastries are out of this world. The Finnish sweet bread was so close to my grandmother’s recipe that it brought back childhood memories. I especially loved their cinnamon treats and the crispy rye bread, which has an incredible natural grain sweetnes
One-star George, small bakeries can't afford to stock the shelves full hoping for the customers to come. Goes without saying. Order ahead if you don't want to be disappointed. I was very happy after my first ( but not last!) visit yesterday. Awesome Finnish munkkis!
Good taste. But since it changed owners it is moving further and further from authentic Finnish baking. The very yeast heavy, fluffy pulla is a far cry from the way Finnish pulla is made. The Nordics use less yeast and spend more time making thinner/tighter baked goods. Won't be buying the pulla again anytime soon. If I want fluffy dough I can spend less and get it at the local grocery bakery
