I was excited to try this brewery, but it turned out to be a major letdown. Despite making their beer in-house, the prices are outrageously high—far more expensive than other breweries offering similar quality. The service was equally disappointing. The staff seemed indifferent and not particularly welcoming or knowledgeable. For the price they charge, I expected much better all around. Definitely not worth it.

What a great place on Main Street! The food was delicious! I had the roasted veggie sandwich and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

Service was great, location is great. Would definitely recommend!

I was excited to try this brewery, but the prices are ridiculously high, especially for beer they brew themselves. You'd expect in-house beer to be more affordable, but they charge as much as—or even more than—premium imports. The quality is decent, but it doesn’t justify the cost. Not worth it

The beer is incredible, and the service is unrivaled. Anastasia and Lisa had my order up fast. Ricky and Ben run that kitchen likes its nobody's business Thanks for the great service.

Had the steak sandwich and the grilled cheese. Very impressive food all around. The made in house sauces were fantastic and the bread was unlike anything we have had on this continent. Service was outstanding, beer was top notch. Will definitely be coming back.

Loved the atmosphere. All our meals were amazing! Highly recommend the turkey sandwich and mixed greens. Some type of balsamic dressing, so good! Poutine was great (for my kids). My husband had a steak sandwich and would also recommend

I recently visited this place that was incredibly disappointing. It felt like I was eating something straight out of the freezer aisle—bland and lacking any real flavor or freshness. The textures were off, and it seemed like it had been microwaved rather than cooked with care. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality. It’s frustrating to see meals that should be enjoyable come out looking and tasting like ready-made frozen food.

The food was tasteless and overpriced, and the service was slow and unhelpful. There are much better restaurants nearby, so I won’t be coming back here again.

A terrible experience!

I called in advance to make a reservation, only to be told that they don't accept reservations on weekends. So, we walked in, and saw a few tables available at the entrance, but were then told that those tables were reserved and we couldn't sit there! Meanwhile, the white people both before and after us were seated without any issues!

The hairy guy at the front desk smiled the entire time, but as soon as it was our turn, his face turned sour, like he had just attended a funeral. We couldn't figure out what we did wrong—was it simply because we're people of color? Do they only sell their precious beer to white people?

After waiting for more than half an hour, we finally found a seat, but even after another 30 minutes, no one came to serve us, and we had to get the utensils ourselves.

It's hard to believe that in 2024, racial discrimination can still be this severe. I will never go back, and I wish your white-only business the best of luck.

Food was tasteless and expensive. Very small menu with their own beer.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is not bad; it's cozy. However, the food was a big disappointment. The dishes lacked flavor, and some seemed undercooked. To make matters worse, the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. We had to wait far too long for our food, and when it finally arrived, it didn’t live up to expectations. Overall, the experience fell flat, and I wouldn't recommend it based on the food and service alone.

I loved my visit to The George. If you're in downtown Newmarket and want a pint and great meal this is your place.

There is a great selection of beer. I enjoyed the Vienna Lager the most, but that isn't to say that all the beers in my flight weren't tasty.

I had an open faced brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries and the portions were great. The only minor niggle I would say is that the sandwich was on corn bread and not something more solid. When I would cut the sandwich the bread would just fall apart. But all the food was tasty and I was very satisfied.

Service was a great part of The George too. Anastasia was our server and she provided great service and always had a bright smile on her face. All staff I spoke with were also friendly and easy going.

There's a good amount of seating inside and some tables outside too if you visit in the summertime.

The location is downtown on the main strip so there isn't any parking lot dedicated. You will have to find street parking and walk.

It's worth the walk.
