The Hungry Donkey

Didn't plan on eating lunch as it was my birthday and we were going out for dinner later, BUT, we decided on something anyway, my wife suggested the hungry donkey. WOW, the chicken was perhaps the nicest I've eaten since arriving in Canada five years ago, flavoursome, tender, juicy amazing!! And the rice and small potatoes were all excellent Highly recommend

The Hungry Donkey was one of the best if not the best greek spot i’ve ever tried!! Highly recommend, they use quality ingredients which makes it incomparable to majority other greek spots.

Had such an amazing experience with the two young ladies working! The food was phenomenal and I had to come back for one more! For something made so fresh it was pretty darn quick within 10 minutes of ordering! If I’m in Newmarket again, I’ll be sure to stop by for another Gyro!

The Hungry Donkey was a lovely surprise for me today. The food was made fresh, the staff beyond nice. The only sad thing is that they're not in Barrie. 10/10 would recommend

The Chicken Souvlaki pita was awesome. Its definitely one of the top food choices at Upper Canada. I really enjoyed it and would absolutely come back just for that. The only downside was the service, which could be a bit more friendly and welcoming. Overall, great food and worth trying!

so good, cute little hidden gem in the market! the chicken souvlaki is amazing the meat is so perfect and tender with amazing flavour. portions are good rice is amazing so are potatoes. many great options and drinks. wish that the tzatziki did not have dill because i really don’t like dill and have never had one in a tzatziki. other than that i love everything!! :)

took them over 15 minutes to make one single thing for me and i was on break so half of my break was wasted waiting for my food while one of the cooks kept walking around the store as if my order hasn’t been made yet, food is great but would be better if i got it sooner than later

Ok food, super expensive, but the worst of all was that the stuff there didn’t use any gloves, were touching my food with their bear hands as well as hair net… disgusting. I paid $190 to throw it to the garbage.

Pork gyro was absolutely delicious. I was surprised to get such great food at the mall. Pork was juicy and had a nice light char. Nice pita bread. Excellent tzatziki. Crisp shaved onions and sliced tomato. Fries in the wrap were hot, fresh fried and nicely seasoned. Asked if they could make it spicy and the hot sauce they used was complimentary. Definitely one of the best Greek meals I've come across. Great value for the ingredients and execution imo. I'll be back again soon

This place is awesome! I got the halloumi wrap, and though it isn’t your “traditional” Greek plate in regards to portion size the size was perfect. It was SO big but it always wasn’t too small. It was also delicious! Would recommend coming here again.

The only place I eat at the mall! Restaurant quality food at the food court, for an extremely reasonable price! The meat is always cooked to perfection, totally worth the wait. The portions are great as well, the gyro might look small, but it is loaded with high density that you feel very full once you finish. And you must try their desert!
