We enjoyed a delicious dinner of fried chicken and sides. The corn bread is fantastic. I usually get the chicken sandwich and the cauliflower bites are yummy. I only wish they served Guinness ?.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the cornbread at Union Chicken and I have to say it was one of the best I've ever had! The bread was perfectly moist and had a subtle sweetness to it that perfectly balanced out the savory flavor of the chicken and other dishes I paired it with. The texture was soft and crumbly, and the cornmeal added a nice crunch.I especially appreciated how the cornbread was served hot and freshly baked, as it made for an even more enjoyable experience. The portion size was generous and I found myself going back for seconds (and maybe even thirds!)Overall, I highly recommend the cornbread at Union Chicken. It's a must-try for anyone who loves a classic, comfort food side dish. I can't wait to go back and enjoy it again!

I thoroughly enjoyed the food. Ordered Buffalo Cauliflower to start. Then I had a Cobb salad which was well put together and tasty. My son ordered his chicken sandwich and poutine side. Everything was great including the service.

Nice little place in the mall. Clean , spaced and overall a good layout and style. It was simple and cozy. Staff were willing to serve and attentive. They were getting busy but it didn't deter the level of service. It was our first time here. Pros are good portions, and food came out in a reasonable time. Cons are ( and probably maybe it was an off day) food didn't hit the mark. The quality of ingredients were there but not the execution. For example the home made ice tea was too sour. Our kids ordered each their own but couldn't get past a few sips. I tried it as well and it was simply not palatable. . The chicken strips and sandwiches were over cooked to the point you can taste the over cooked near burnt flour on the coating. The dredging/coating is very thick so if it's over fried will easily hold that burt taste. Coleslaw was too salty and fries had no seasoning (but maybe by design for the fries so I'll give them that). Roasted brussel sprouts were probably the best thing we got. We didnt eat all the food but the staff was gracious to give us some quality take away trays. I'll give it 3 stars but I'm sure on most days they can be a 4 star easily. If you enjoy this type of cuisine it might be up your alley.

Wonderful lunch with my son. The atmosphere was funky and cool. We were warmly welcomed when we walked in and were seated at a great table. Lyris, our server, was amazing. Food was delicious. My son said he will never eat a chicken sandwich anywhere else. Thanks also to Carol, who made our visit rememberable. We will definitely be back. A+

First time visited. Friendly staffs. Had a platter and wings. They were good but wings are a bit pricey.

Everyone is so lovely and friendly! The employees were willing to go above and beyond to ensure that my experience was a memorable visit. I forgot to mention the chicken! The Chicken they serve with the fantastic sauces really shows how tasty it is! (Maple Syrup is my favourite sauce!) I definitely recommend to go at least one to many times!

Sadly, very disappointed with my meal from union. Having always wanted to try it, I was very excited this past week to order for pickup. Got the Nashville hot chicken plate, rotisserie sweet potato, cornbread, and coleslaw. First the good, coleslaw was good, cornbread was excellent. The bad - showed up at scheduled pickup time and waited around for 15 minutes. They didn't look busy , was a Thursday evening, but clearly none of my food had even started to be prepared. The fried chicken which is supposed to come with cayenne honey and some other sauces came with.... Nothing. Just pickles and a slice of white bread. Chicken was maybe half slathered with Nashville hot sauce but most was dry. No crisp factor, breading was soggy even after reheating, way too much of it too. Sweet potato in photos looks like it was a full potato but instead it was a greasy pile of flavourless sweet potato home fries that I could make way better at home. Can't imagine this is what is being served to everyone or they'd be out of business. 1 star for the cornbread.

We just wanted some fried korean chicken but there is not in the area so gave this one a try and it was suprisingly good. Even though we didn't need to wait for a long time, the chicken was nice crunchy and moist inside. The portion was huge so we couldn't finish, and the service was good, definitely will be back!

Superb time at Union. Entering the Small Cool Market inside the mall, there’s various restaurants, bakeries to choose from.Union was my choice for the day as I was craving some juicy crispy chicken. They delivered ! Highly satisfactory and will be back again.

If you have not tried the Union Chicken Lettuce Wraps you need to. Hubby and I both just had them and are floored by the burst of flavours and the freshness mixed with the right amount of heat. Spectacular!!

4.5 stars! Full disclaimer: we went to Union Chicken specifically for their National Fried Chicken Day bogo deal, and my review reflects that. It was National Fried Chicken day a few days ago, and my fiance was so excited that Union Chicken had a bogo deal to mark the occasion. We're not local to Newmarket, but we headed to the Upper Canada Mall to check out the deal at around dinner time. The restaurant is in their fancier food court, and as it was a weeknight (and kind of early), it wasn't very busy. After picking a seat, the hostess told us pretty bluntly that the bogo deals only covered the fried chicken and Nashville hot chicken sandwiches (but you had to get two of the same sandwich, no mixing and matching), and the separate 1-and-2 pieces of chicken. The sandwiches didn't come with a side. We decided to go for two of the Nashville hot chicken, since we couldn't mix and match, and ordered 1 piece of chicken with the 2nd being free, as well as a side of fries and piri piri mayo. We decided to forego drinks - they didn't have much on tap, and the waitress gave us samples of a gin and soda that they had on tap when we expressed interest in what that was. The samples were fine, but we stuck with water, which probably tells you everything you need to know! The sandwiches were really good portions, though it threw me that they were served on regular toasted white bread. That said, they were delicious. It was a hot chicken sandwich, but I believe the sauce is a maple honey sauce, and it added some sweetness and made the heat less intense. I thought it was the perfect combo of flavours, though my fiance thought it was too sweet. The fries were HOT, very fresh, and what originally seemed like a small portion was actually pretty sizeable. The pieces of chicken were also a great size. I was fully expecting to get cheaped out on the BOGO deal, but these were legitimately sized portions! Overall, with the bogos, we felt like this was an insanely cheap meal for what we got, especially "in this economy." I'd love to go back and try the chicken and waffles - a table nearby got them and they looked perfect.
