We went to a 90th birthday last Sunday at Villa Risi. The place was great and the food was fantastic. There were 3 other parties going on at the same time but you wouldn’t even know. Service was great and waiters were very attentive.

We were there for a private function, Saturday September 20th. Peter was the best, the Caesar salad was probably the best I’ve had, the pasta was done to perfection and the chicken Parmesan was fabulous. Great job.

I order from this restaurant on Uber eats the carpaccio was brown and tasted off and it came with bread on the side that seems to be the Costco baguette, and it was clearly days old it was rockhard and inedible. Very disappointed I’ve been craving this for a while. If I could leave a no star rating, I would.
Great food and exceptional service. Servers were conscious of our water which we really appreciated.
Portion sizes were very generous. We ordered the Gnocchi and were very satisfied.

We hosted my husband's 40th birthday at this restaurant and Peter and his team did a phenomenal job. We booked the private room and truly had an amazing experience from start to finish. It was so easy for me, Peter and his team handled everything. I didn’t have to stress or worry, and I actually got to enjoy the evening with our family and friends. The service was impeccable, the food was absolutely phenomenal, and Peter was so warm and accommodating. There was live music on Saturday which made the night even more special. I highly recommend this restaurant for any larger event you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much, Peter and team, for making my husband’s birthday so memorable!

So overpriced!!! 4 shrimp and 5 small scallops with some veggies for $37 before tax and service. A photo is attached.
The scallops were overcooked and the soup too salty.

Always a pleasure to dine here! This is our 4th time here. Our servers and rest of staff were amazing and accommmodating to our party of 8. Our pasta dishes were generous portions and tasted fresh and homemade! My husband escpecially loved the Capellini D'amore! ! The Calamari Fritti were delicious and the veal marsala was absolutely excuisite! They had a live piano player and a singer who were really good and made the night even more entertaining. We live in Aurora and have dined in most Italian restaurants in Aurora/Newmarket/ Richmond Hill, and by far - this restaurant offers a little bit of everything you need to spend a night out with your family and friends !

Just ordered from this restaurant and the entire order is beyond disappointing. Tiny portions, everything is tasteless, salad looks so old we didn’t even attempt to try it. Pizza had a tomato on it that was an inch thick, why? Will never order again

Unfortunately, I had a terrible first experience at Villa Risi last night. The food was shockingly bad, especially considering the extremely high prices. The pizza came out raw, and it took another 20 minutes to get a replacement. The fried calamari was overly greasy. The grilled calamari was overcooked, under seasoned and tasted like char meaning the grill was dirty or too hot. I ordered the veal Marsala as a main dish- the veal looked and tasted like Swanson’s frozen beef stroganoff- drowning in sauce and very low quality veal. The steak was also underwhelming.
Even dessert was a letdown. The apple crisp was more like warm, mushy oatmeal with apples.
Worse of all, I left the restaurant with awful stomach pain and ended up being sick all night.
While the owner seemed like a genuinely kind older man (which made it hard to complain in the moment), the service overall was subpar. Our server was friendly but clearly lacked proper training — dirty appetizer plates sat on our table throughout the entire meal.
The restaurant appears fancy when you first walk in, but once you look closer, it feels more like a tired banquet hall — dirty walls, unkempt bathrooms, and an overall lack of attention to detail.
I can confidently say I’ll never return. If you’re looking for good Italian food in the area, skip this place and head up the street to Luna Restaurante — far better quality, atmosphere, and service.

Service was terrible. Missed things and took way too long. Pasta was too thick and under cooked. Not even al dente. French onion soup was not good. Pizza was tasteless. Calamari was nice. Bruschetta was nice.
First and last time we will eat here.
