I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before dining at The Guru because the quality of information in the reviews and their reliability is shockingly low in this case. I had the best lamb and gulab jamun ever and overall the quality of food was excellent. The whole family both long-time Indian cuisine connoisseurs and newbies enjoyed their meals as well as the service and atmosphere. After leaving Niagara Falls, we missed this place for the rest of our road trip.

I had a thoroughly disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was abysmal—staff were inattentive, borderline rude, and didn’t even bother with a basic greeting when I arrived. The food, while edible, was strictly average, nothing to write home about. To make matters worse, the portion sizes were laughably small, leaving me hungry despite the hefty price tag. $17 small bowl of sabzi/Dal for just one person. The final straw? The plates were visibly dirty, which is just unacceptable. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs—it’s not worth the hassle.

Food is overpriced. And not worth as tried tea. It’s just hot water with sugar in it as very low milk. It’s hot water drink with sugar.
Worst.
Don’t recommend to go this reasturent. .

7 of Us, All Disappointed

I’ve never experienced anything like this. Came with a group of 7, excited to try this place — until we found out they don’t serve dosa, which is what we came for.

As we planned to go to Royal Dosa Hut instead, my parents used the washroom. That’s when the owner turned incredibly rude, saying we must dine in just because the washroom was used.

I offered to pay for the washroom use to keep the peace, and she actually took $20 from us. No food, no service, just an aggressive attitude and an unnecessary charge.

All 7 of us agreed to leave individual reviews to make sure this kind of behavior doesn’t go unchecked.
