Absolutely amazing experience. Will definitely be back with friends and family.
Highly recommend this winery over the other wineries we have been to, which is the majority in the Niagara on the Lake region.
I have been participating in wine tours almost yearly for the past 17 years with friends and family. It has become a ritual. We all love the experience together, however I will admit I am a pretty tough customer when it comes to Ontario wines. I have yet to find a RED that I like. I like a smooth, full bodied red, and have always found the Ontario reds to be too high in tannins making it difficult to find a Ontario one that I like, so I was surprised when I found more than one at Big Head ( by the way I love the name as well as it's origin), including their least expensive red.
Wow!!
Keep up the good work, and thank you Andrjez for making our anniversary such a wonderful experience.
$15 to stand at the bar and have a 3x tasting, $55 to be able to have a seat for 6x tasting. In spite of accessibility issues. We did not stay, as my sister cannot comfortably stand for long periods. Very unaccommodating.
They have very good wines here from which to sample. Unfortunately they do not offer full glasses of wine, but perhaps one day. The ambience is really nice though.
Love this winery! The people that work there are both friendly and engaging. They have some really unique blends of wine, that they are very proud of. We did a tasting with Jenna, who was knowledgeable of their products and processes, and did an amazing job helping us to explore their offerings. We’re going back today to get pizza on the patio :)
This winery was recommended by another winery & we were not disappointed. The wine was truly amazing & more important, no sulfaates are used. We had the pleasure of meeting Andre, the owner, & he personally served us a few of his speciality wines. One named after his mother & one after his surname. Alyissa was excellent & recommended 3 white wines & 3 red wines for sampling. I will be back?
I found out about BIG HEAD WINES the day they were organizing an event for their partners. The service was impeccable! A wide range of wines… good food and first-class service. My favorite: 2019 Pinot Gris ??
Pizzas were creative and delicious. Would return.
There is a bike rack. 3 wine samples for 15. Two icewines on the tasting list.
Tasting reservation recommended but they also have a bar without chairs for walk-ins.
We loved our experience at Big Head Wines. Served by Kyle! He was knowledgeable, fun and created such good "edutainment" ™️
We learned a lot about wines in our experience and all the while, had a good time!
We would highly recommend and we look forward to enjoying this winery again in the future.
The best experience I’ve ever had! Mr. Andrzej and Mrs. Janina took care of us in the best possible way you can imagine. I’ve never experienced anything like this before and with my whole heart I recommend everybody to visit The Big Head Winery. Best wines I’ve tried in my life and the best stuff you can imagine.
We usually visit the Niagara region several times a year and when we do, set up our own tour. For this tour our group was 3 but included only 2 ‘active’ tasters. This was the fourth of four winery visits that were completed this trip. We had not been to this winery in many years (pre covid and moved twice since our last visit) so it was time to check it out again. The facilities are well done but the outdoor spaces appear very limited. We did not make a reservation for this tasting visit but we were taken in upon arrival. The tasting was conducted indoors and the associated tasting fees were reasonable. The selection of wines available for tasting is relatively limited. Given our preference for bold red varietals, our options were even more limited. This was NOT a guided tasting. We were 'served' at the bar. We selected the wines from a list without introduction or discussion, the selected wines were poured and the server gone. We could not understand the lack of customer service throughout our visit as this place was not busy - very perplexing given some of the other reviews on this site. By far the worst tasting experience of our tour. The wines were passable but nothing we would even consider purchasing. We will definitely NOT be back - there are much better options in Niagara.

Came here with some friends on a wine tour yesterday and had such a pleasant experience. Ava was our server and she was fantastic! She was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and just had such a fun and upbeat attitude the whole time which definitely elevated our experience.
Excellent experience. Our host, Brent, was great, knowledgeable, and made our wine tasting a unique one! The atmosphere was welcoming. Our party also appreciated high quality choice in gluten free snack.
Fantastic service. Good wine. Franc and raw Riesling are a must to try. Can't beat the price for #10.
After years of visiting NOTL we finally discovered BIG HEAD WINES and we are SO glad we did! The winery is spotlessly clean & the wine was delicious. We enjoyed a charcuterie board on the patio. Camille happily welcomed us with a big smile and spunky personality, making it a truly great experience. Definitely worth visiting again!
High quality wines! I suggest you book in order to have the full experience and explanations of each wine! The Chenins are sublime!
