Cannery Restaurant

Have been here for dinner twice in the last year and both times it was exactly the same. Excellent food, however the service made for a less than enjoyable experience. Took forever to be acknowledged after being seated, water was never refilled, nobody checked in to see how meals were or if we wanted more drinks, and sat forever after our meal waiting for dishes to be cleared. If not for the quality of the food, would not even think about giving it another chance.

We all agreed that dinner at The Cannery was the highlight meal of our weekend. My husband asserts that the crabcakes were the best he has ever had, and I found the prime rib wonderfully flavourful (but ask for beef jus on the yorkshire pudding).
A definite winner! The service was also above reproach. They could not have been more attentive, efficient and professional.

Can honestly say this is the best meal my Wife and I have ever had. The service was amazing, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere made us not want to leave. Our server Melanie was fantastic and kind. Do yourself a favor and book a meal here.

We made a reservation at the restaurant for our anniversary after a relaxing spa day, and it was just what we needed.

The serene atmosphere perfectly complemented our day. We ordered the “Slow-roasted Prime Rib” and “BBQ Flat Iron”, and both dishes were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. You can ask for sour cream, horseradish, green onions, and cheese on the side, which adds a nice touch.

For dessert, we had the Brookie, and the staff surprised us by decorating it; a lovely gesture that made our evening even more special.

We have been to this restaurant several times and I must say, the service we experienced tonight was terrible! It was our anniversary and unfortunately we were seated next to the most obnoxious and classless lady I have seen. We kindly asked to be moved. Another couple also complained. Our waiter did absolutely nothing despite plenty of open tables. Not to mention, he never checked on us once during our meal except to ask if we wanted to see a dessert menu - we couldn't wait to get out of there. The manager was informed and all he said to the host was, see if others around them want to be moved. We weren't looking for anything other than to be moved so we could enjoy dinner. No acknowledgement or care and poor service.

Lovely restaurant with great decor. The seating was perfect and quiet enough to hear your own conversation. Everyone loved their dinner and desserts. We will definitely try it again!

Overall, I thought the experience was very similar to The Keg where I usually get my steak dinners. However, I'm not a huge fan of truffle dishes. I much prefer The Keg's garlic mashed potatoes. We also had a great server. I think her name was Carol (?).

The Cannery is a world of its own. From start to finish the food and service are awesome. This was not our first time, we just keep returning and always we find nothing changes except maybe menu items, otherwise everything no matter how small, the attention to detail is a given, warm and welcoming as always. We are foodies who have travelled the world where ee have dined at Michelin star restaurants that most often are disappointing, either food or service or both. Here in Niagara on the Lake, tucked away on a wuiet residential street, is the Cannery, the Pillar and Post's fine dining restaurant, a place that never fails. Kudos to Team Cannery, you are the Best of the best. See soon!

We went to the Cannery restaurant for their Sunday buffet. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience - from the ambience, mood of the room, the food itself, service and the noise level. We would definitely return.

We celebrated our friends 30th Anniversary and had the perfect experience. We were kindly greeted at the entrance and promptly seated. We had a wonderful server who gave us exceptional service. All our meals were delicious and we appreciated they all arrived together and the presentation was perfect. Looking forward to our next experience there.

The salmon and chicken dishes were ok, but the mash potatoes were actually wet and the rice with the salmon soggy. Not good value and not well made. The server and ambience was very good.

We come here every year and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The staff really goes out of their way to make you feel special.The food is exceptional! I would highly recommend this restaurant. See you next year!
