My past few visits to Stratus have always been enjoyable and I made a point to go there when visiting Niagara on the Lake. However, my last visit was subpar. It was unplanned and we stopped by after hiking in the area for my BIRTHDAY!!!!! ...

Our server, Margot seemed miserable and unsuitable for customer service and talking about wine. She wasn’t warm whatsoever and was really stingy with her pours.

When I asked to try a white label red I had to pretty much beg to get it. She made us feel like the bottle was out of my price range…perhaps because I was in hiking clothing. I also asked if she could take us to the back where the barreling room was and she was hesitant to do so. Yet again I had to pretty much beg to get the tour.

The other employees behind the bar were so helpful. Margot was more interested in serving other tables and making sure to leave us for last. I have been coming to Stratus for years and this was extremely disappointing.

Honestly put a damper on my birthday..

The place is always beautiful, we went with our two kids this time and we didn't feel welcome at all with an older lady that looked like the owner at the entrance and dipped us outside right away, luckily it wasn't too cold. The host who helped us outside saved the experience as we wanted to drive to the next winery instead

Amazing tasting of some delicious wines.
We think it was Katherine that was serving us. Great knowledge about the wines and very friendly.
Highly recommend a stop here. The signature tasting wines were very good.

Decent winery. We did not find anything on the tasting menu we liked, it was already curated and not customizable. Our host was very knowledgeable of the wines they sold and brought us a few extra wines to try. We ended up buying those that they suggested to us.

The building and grounds has a very over the top modern feel to it, fits it's vibe as a new boutique winery. Great views off of the patio.
The vibe is more of , we know what you will like vs we might have something you like.
If it wasn't for the staff and their knowledge we would have had a much more negative experience. Cheers.

Paul is an absolute gem of Status Vineyard. He went above and beyond during our tasting experience. We connected over our love for Bordeaux wines and after this quick conversation he personalized our experience with a couple of surprises. Hospitality at its best. Thank you Status and Paul!

An Unforgettable Experience at Stratus Winery

My recent visit to Stratus Winery was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and warmth extended by the entire team were remarkable. Dean, the winemaker, provided an incredibly informative and engaging tour, showcasing not only the impressive facilities but also the passion and dedication behind every bottle produced at Stratus.

The wine tasting, expertly led by Suzanne, was a highlight of the day. Her knowledge and enthusiasm were infectious, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. The Stratus Red Premium 2020, in particular, stood out as a masterpiece—rich, complex, and truly memorable.

Stratus Winery is not just about excellent wine; it’s about the entire experience—from the warm welcome to the deep dive into winemaking and the thoughtful, personalized service. I cannot recommend Stratus Winery enough for anyone seeking a truly unique and unforgettable wine experience.

We just visited The Stratus and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We had a wonderful sommelier, Aditya who was very knowledgeable and shared his passion of wine with us. He even gave us a mini tour of the wine making process on the premises. And bonus, the wines were delicious!! The ambience was modern and high end. A 5* experience!

My partner and I got married this summer and we selected Stratus Vineyards for our wedding ceremony and reception. We worked directly with Madison and Michelle - they were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were incredibly kind, always organized, and made the wedding planning and day of festivities so enjoyable. Our guests keep telling us how beautiful the winery is and how stunning our wedding set up was. Don't over look Stratus when planning your next event as they'll ensure every detail is met and will surpass your expectations.

We stopped in last night, to look at the menu, as one in our party is vegan. They had a vegan charcuterie board. So we planned today around that, only to find, after being seated that they did not have the vegan charcuterie board and didn’t have even chips. So, one in our party was left drinking wine with no food. They offered to bring crackers but forgot and had to be reminded several times. It’s a beautiful and chic establishment but left a sour taste in our mouths and not just from the mineral heavy wines.

The Harvest Hunters

One of our favourite wineries in Ontario. Amazing wines and such a gorgeous winery and vineyard.

Matthew is a true connoisseur who possesses outstanding knowledge of the various vintages Stratus has to offer. We were left really impressed!

Very nice place! The flight tastings are in my opinion a little too simple! Do not hesitate to ask to modify them in order to include some other wines available for purchase. Very good quality wines!!

RACIST Establishment - Visible Minorities Avoid at all Cost.
Biggest mistake of my Life visiting Stratus vineyards with my family this past weekend.

Would like to give a MINUS 5 STAR if possible.

Did research and based on the articles "10 Best Dog-Friendly Wineries To Visit Near St. Catharines And Niagara On The Lake" on the website "The Travel" finalized that we would stop by this vineyard when visiting Niagara-on-the-lake.
Travel included the entire family and our dog. We reached the vinery at 1:02pm Sunday July 28 and were greeted professionally and cordially by the greeter and showed to the table on the patio - the greeter was pleasant and even promised to bring bowl of water for our dog.

All pleasantness and cordial behaviour ended from this point onwards. Note- it was a warm sunny day with day time high of 30C

While we waited 4 other tables with guests who arrived after us were being attended to, while we were not even given a glass of water. Not sure of the number of servers - gave them benefit of doubt and decide to be patient.

Over the next 35 minutes while we sat on that patio patiently - saw 5 other groups of guests come in (one group included a party of 7). All were being offered their table, water, water for their pet, wine and whatever snacks they ordered.
I counted the number of servers - noticed total of 5. So any excuse of being short staffed went out of the window- not to mention 5 group of guests who came in After Us, were all being catered to. To make matters worse, in all of the those 35 minutes while we waited Extremely Patiently NOBODY (none of the servers) made eye contact with our table.

We were not even served WATER

The Only difference between our family and all of the other Guests- we belong to a VISIBLE MINORITY group and the rest of the guests and staff were caucasian.

In the past of learning of such a Racist situation I would have thought I would naturally show Anger. However I was just Disappointed in the helpless Situation- extremely ---- that my daughters had to experience this. Unable to provide them with a plausible rationale as to why we were subjected to this behaviour.

My way of tackling the situation - asked the family to head back to the car. Asked for
the manager for an explanation. Instead of a sorry all we got was " this was not our intention" before we even brought up race or discrimination.
We left the place at 1:42pm with no resolution or attempt at an apology from the restaurants part.

This was by far the worst experience of my life which I hope is not something my daughters have to face... but now I know better than to visit such a place
