Excellent service and food! The Canadian Burger is huge and full of flavor. The Ham and Brie was simply perfect. The salad was crisp fresh greens with juicy tomatoes topped with a vinaigrette. And you can’t forget to try the hand cut fries!!

The only reason the value is not perfect is because my friend asked for hot water and lemon and they charged her $3.50. Really?! It was the smallest slice of lemon. It won't prevent us from going back, but I think that's just ridiculous. Now, that being said the waitress let her know that would be the cost before she served it and she could have changed her order.

Lovely meals here on two separate occasions (once in 2020 and then again in 2023). Well taken care of both times we have visited. Great selection of wines, as to be expected in NOTL. Menu has lots of variety without being overly large and cumbersome. Back patio is beautiful.

Absolutely wonderful and surprising experience!! Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and perfect service!! Our server was beyond wonderful!!! He worked with a food allergy and nailed it perfectly. He allowed us to enjoy our meal and was attentive but not rushed. Will highly recommend and will be returning!!

Additional fees/costs not included on the menu ($5 extra plate fee). The waitress only offered bottled water, and charged the table for the privilege. French Onion soup lacked any flavor. The cheese was chemical-tasting and almost certainly fake. The Rueben was nothing to write home about, and had less flavor than an Arby's Ruben. Waitress took our order and didn't return to provide the bill until we flagged her down. Everything felt very superficial, and the prices did not justify the quality. The toilet in the Men's bathroom was broken, which is normally a health violation.

Worst food and worst customer service I have had in a while. Soggy pre-made sandwiches for a very hefty price. The server was very condenscending, trying to convince me that the grey smoked salmon that was served is due to the "Niagara freshness" that us Toronto people don't understand. Don't waste your time and money here. Go anywhere else

Had an amazing server i wish i remembered his name to give him credit, but he provided a very personal experience and was very knowledgeable on the foods, really helped me and my partner to enjoy his birthday, thanks again! The apps we had were definitely the best, smoked salmon was both of our favorite. He had the steak and it was cooked perfectly and I had the salmon which was okay but the rice is sweet and caught me off guard but i think i just missed it on the menu.

Daniel was a great server, knowledgeable about the menu and specials and has a quirky sense of humour. We enjoyed our appetizers and entrées, many recommended by Daniel. We did find the portions too large, but I guess most people wouldn't complain about having too much food. We were staying at a hotel and driving the next day without a cooler, so we didn't box them up and it felt wasteful. We ended up eating too much and felt overstuffed. One thing I would like to suggest for future: At such a progressively-minded restaurant, it would be great to see some interesting alcohol-free options on the drinks menu. There are many excellent AF cocktails now, made with 0.0% spirits, and very good AF wines (especially bubbly) - not the horrible grape juice in your average grocery store. There are also lots of ready-made AF cocktails out there, such as the Clever brand out of Quebec. Check out upsidedrinks.ca for some suggestions. It's just not okay to offer an adult a shirley temple or lemonade/iced tea mixture when there are so many great options on the market. I know NOTL is a major wine region, all the more reason for some of the vineyards to get with the revolution and start producing some good AF wines to sell in the local restaurants. For this meal, I settled on a ginger ale but hope to see something better on the menu next time around. Not everyone drinks alcohol and those of us who don't still want to have a nice drink with the meal.

Really enjoyed this place, cozy and welcoming food was also very solid. French onion soup was the best I've had in all Canada, and the fish & chips were really tremendous as well. Had the pork chop as well one night and that was also really flavorful. Biggest asset to this establishment however is the service, we had Sean and came back as much as we could during our stay to see him again, charming, friendly, knowledgeable. The kind of guy who makes you want to keep coming back and keep ordering more. Highly recommend requesting him if you visit!!

The food and quality are very good. I liked that they have specials that are not on the menu. The waiter was excellent and explained food choices. The food was very hot when they brought it to the table. The whole staff and atmosphere in the restaurant is excellent . The dishes served had fresh vegetables that were delicious. I had the steak and a Caesar salad which were excellent. My only negative for me is I would like to see a little bit more variety for the main course meal. I don't like duck or pasta and when that is removed from the choices it doesn't leave a lot of variety. I would highly recommend dining there . I thought the prices where a little high but I am seventy six years old and probably out of touch with todays cost associated with a good restaurant.

We were caught in traffic and had little time for dinner prior to the Shaw. We walked across the street hoping we could grab a quick bite at this cute and cozy bistro. After explaining the time dilemma, we were provided with multiple options. We literally were having a lovely glass of Niagara wine and eating very hot and delicious meals within 10 minutes. Service was outstanding! I would definitely go back!!

My daughter and I chose the Epicurean restaurant because we were looking for a moderately priced meal and the restaurant's pricing was showing less $ signs than other restaurants in the surrounding area. The menu looked good, with the highest priced pasta entree at $28. After the waiter mentioned the "specials" for the evening, we each selected a different one, my daughter had the mushroom risotto and I the seafood linguine. When the bill arrived, the price of each entree was substantially more than the price of any pasta dish on the menu. My seafood linguine was $48! Why wouldn't the restaurant/waiter be upfront and advise diners of the greatly enhanced cost when the special is being presented and the price-point so much greater than anything comparable on the menu?Never would anyone have guessed the price of the specials to be so far beyond the regular menu prices. My opinion is that the entire ordeal was deceitful and disappointing. The price was conveniently omitted when the dish was mentioned although the waiter knew of the gross difference in pricing versus comparable dishes on the menu. The food was really tasty, however, this dishonesty makes it a place not to return to or recommend.

As usual the Epicurean has made our evening very enjoyable. The Ahi Tuna was wonderful (my husband's fav) and my wild Mushroom risotto was so good! We love to bring friends here and had a great evening with 10 family members. Great service and friendly staff.

Decided to try a new restaurant being new to the area. Landed at The Epicurean in NOTL. Waitress was pleasant, drinks came and martini glass wad half full. Not a great start, especially for a $15 drink. Ordered appetizer and mains. While waiting we had overhead another waitress tell her table about the specials. We were both surprised as we had not been told and would have made different selections. Spoke to the manager, which was apparent upon approaching he had been drinking (smell of alcohol present), and refused to assit us with the mixup. Quoting nothing could be done. Waitress when asked why we weren't told, said she had forgotten. When asked what could be done to rectify the situation, she gave the exact response, nothing could be done. Given our orders were already in, we understand that couldn't just be tossed aside. Food was okay, mediocre, lacking seasoning and flavour, esp. the salmon, best thing on the plate, roasted potatoes.Customer service goes a long way, even an apology goes a long way. Due to the error, the manager could have apologized, even discounted or offered something for a future visit. Instead he disappeared from sight for the rest of our meal. The whole experience left a sour tastes in our mouths especially spending $150 on dinner. Needless to say we won't be back and will not recommend this place.
