We were very disappointed in our meals and customer service tonight. The pickerel was tasteless, no lemon or condiments provided, the seasonal (frozen) veggies were soggy & tasteless. The chicken tasted and had texture of tofu, roasted potatoes were frozen hash browns smothered in rosemary and veggies were soggy. I couldn’t eat my chicken meals. When I told the waiter he said there was nothing they could do about it. Really? Well, there is something I can do about it… this review and never going to Average Joe’s again.

Had dinner tonight there for my son and daughter birthday, the starters duck wings, calamari and dips platter were delicious and so was the mains salmon special of the day, pasta etc. Service was very attentive to the allergies we mentioned. Thanks

I went to Average Joe’s for dinner and really enjoyed it. Starting with dessert, the lava cake was massive for $11 and the deep-fried ice cream was also a huge portion for the same price. Personally, I didn’t love the texture of the coating on the ice cream, but the size and value were impressive. For my meal, I had the two-piece fish and chips—very large portions where one piece would be enough for most people. Everything was tasty and satisfying. The atmosphere was great on the covered patio with a nice view of the lake. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the service: our waitress took only half our drink order at first and dessert ordering was a little confusing. Very minor issues overall, but worth mentioning. Still, generous portions, good food, and a great location—I’d recommend it if you’re in the area.

The food and location are great. It's a fairly unique restaurant in the sense that you can boat up to it from Trout Lake, leave your boat at their docks and come in for a meal. There isn't too much parking for vehicles. I would suggest making a reservation before going. There food is good but I think their menu is too small. The service was good. I'd say expect to spend a little more than usual on dinner. Very good though!

I’m disappointed to write this after loving Average Joe’s for years. I have brought many people here over the years from out of town and this time was super disappointed in all the food we had. We ordered French onion soup to start however, the onions seemed raw in the soup, and the soup was overpowered by parsley. For dinner, we ordered the chicken and it was smaller than usual, very little stuffing, and we ordered the risotto. I was super excited about the risotto as I have ordered this chicken supreme multiple times however, the risotto seem like white rice with parsley and huge chunks of uncooked onion, rather than the delicious taste it used to have and the chicken supreme was very dry. As much as my family has been here for years, we will not be returning. This restaurant was always good for pricing before, however this meal was not worth the price tag this time.
Our server was nice, however, seemed very un knowledgable about the products, and was hard to track down when we had requests.

We had a great brunch this morning. The food was fantastic and no waiting for a table on a Sunday morning which was an absolutely wonderful treat. I had the farmers delight and the eggs were done perfectly. My friends cinnamon bun french toast looked super tasty and she was extremely happy with her choice. The other two in the party had the Beef Eggs Benedict, none of us left hungry. Our server was around lots to check up on us and top up the coffee.

Sadly, Average Joe’s Restaurant didn’t live up to expectations (of being Average) . The food was a letdown - dry salmon, bland pickerel, and a boring hamburger with no condiments. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes with no hint of garlic or butter.
To top it off, the service was incredibly slow. We waited over an hour for our food, and the staff seemed inattentive.
Overall, not an experience I’ll be rushing to repeat.

I had the pleasure of dining at Average Joe’s, and it was anything but average. The food was excellent especially the crab cakes, which were perfectly cooked, flavorful, and honestly some of the best I've had. I didn't remember to take a photo.
Stephanie, our server, made the experience even better. She was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
The view? Just astonishing. Whether you're inside or on the patio, the atmosphere is hard to beat.
If there's one area for improvement, it's the welcoming process at the entrance, which felt a bit unorganized. But once you're seated, everything falls into place beautifully.
Highly recommend for a relaxed meal with top-notch food and a stunning lakeside backdrop.
