In our opinion during this disgusting and disappointing visit in no way did it reflect the Montana's acceptable standards. We had the pleasure of speaking to the on-hand share owner/operator Maxine Dawkins after the manager was unable to address our concerns. Maxine pulled a chair to our table in conversation on how disgusting and at its worst currently her restaurant is in, in our opinion NOT following the Montana's standards. All she replied is "Yes your right, I can not deny it. At this point if I could I would replace all the staff. Unfortunately that's not possible.' We pointed out to her attention the dirty washrooms, dining area walls, booth seats, the sides of several vinyl table covers dirty even under our paper cover, broken TV full of finger prints, window and window ledge dirty and the floor. The food presentation was terrible. My husbands Burrito Bowel did not at all appear as on the menu also came cold. My Four Cheese Spinach Dip did not have the same consistency. It was very soupy. So over all I hope they enforce the Montana's Guest Experience Brand Policies going forward.

Everyone was welcoming & friendly. Pleasantly surprised by the prices. Very tasty ribs & chicken. Wow baked potato & corn muffin. Very clean washrooms - excellent! Sandy (Mgr) patiently listened to and answered our questions. Not being from North By it was refreshing to find someone friendly and helpful. Jess opened the door in greeting and was a great server. There must be great management here that sets the example and brings out the best in staff. Definitely coming back!!

While in North Bay on a quick family trip, we decided to take supper at Montana's (1899 Algonquin). While our server was pleasant, she was not well versed on the menu, or the structure of the meals. We ordered steak and chicken meals. Both steaks were ordered medium rate. When they arrived both were overcooked, medium-well on the edges and medium in the centre. As well both steaks were cold. The side dish, baked potatoes were also overdone to the point of being inedible. The onion rings were cold and tasteless. The chicken arrived cooked, but cold. The grilled shrimp that were ordered with the steak did not arrive until the meal was done. They were cold, flat and unappealing, we sent them back. There was no explanation or apology from the staff or management. The only reason I gave this one star is because I can't select zero. This place is not recommended.

So, the food was good, the service great, but here are the issues. 1. Only a server and a bartender on duty and it was busy. 2. Took us 20 minutes to get our drinks and 35 to get our meals. 3. Not our servers fault in the least, she said lots of sick calls, but where is the Manager to fill these vacancies! Not fair for the customers or the server who was rushed off her feet. 4. Sat down and when our server, Brooke(again, who was amazing) came to get our drink order, the first thing she says is..no romaine or lettuce for salads, no pork, no andojitos appetizers! We have been away for over a week and have not run into this anywhere else!

Road trip through Canada and North Bay was our last stop before Michigan. A great time, fast service knowledgeable waiter and very good BBQ. The place was filling up fast and by the time we left people were waiting.

Bento sushi made the most beautiful platter for our reunion. Staff is so accommodating for substituting items. I would recommend them again and again. Thank you!

I'm addicted to the dynamite crunch rolls from this place. My wife is vegan and there are a few different rolls she can have too. Very good quality sushi.

The staff are all very kind and the Manager ( I am unsure of her name) is extremely friendly! I have gone in a few times and she remembers my order every time. Even months later post Covid. I get the Veggie Burger - sub the Apple BBQ sauce for their Habanero hot sauce, with no onions and no mayo on a gluten free bun and it is hands down the best Veggie Burger I have had! I would highly recommend and am so grateful for the service I continue to receive. Will absolutely be returning again and again !!
