Churchill's Prime Rib House

Brutal customer service

I’d booked a reservation online for this restaurant. We were coming in from out of town almost two hours so I wanted to make sure we were confirmed. So the night before I called and spoke with someone who assured me I was booked in, and then the app sent me a confirmation as well.
All was good.
When we got to the restaurant though, someone had taken my reservation! Not sure how-as I’d stated we were a party of two adults and four children. And there weren’t any children there.
So they had to make up a new table-which took another ten minutes.
They seated us in the atrium—which in my opinion should be kept solely for Lunch. The ambiance of this restaurant is awesome, and for a real steak dinner-that’s what you want-the old school, dark and brooding charm—not the bright, and sunny view of cars. I can go anywhere else for that. So I was really disappointed that we were put there-along with other people who were VERY loud-and it’s funny bc we had the kids!
Anyway, that aside, there were crumbs all over the floor and our seats, the glasses were dirty; and cutlery had to be sent back.
What is on the menu was not what you get-as well as not being the same as online. I’d pre-read online and knew what I wanted but then that changed once we got there and seen it was different. (Ie the ceaser salad, scallops)
Added to that they were out of stock on somethings we had ordered, so changes had to be made.
The wine menu is on an iPad which is absolutely ridiculous.
The server was slow and inexperienced-so we had to wait a long while between courses and with four children that was a feat. (Regardless of the children- who were well behaved, it was a long wait bc the server waited until After she’d taken our appetizers away to come back and take our order instead of doing it beforehand)
The food was ok. My steak came out well done instead of medium and they didn’t bring out our second order of bread-but charged us for it.
The scallops came with a fruity jus that didn’t have any business being with seafood and the dessert menu is lackluster at best-and also mostly contains nuts; which would be a no for anyone allergic.
Overall—not what you’d be looking for in a restaurant that charges almost $100/plate.
I’m disappointed in going out and dropping all that cash and it not being worth it over all.

Excellent food, but service was extremely slow. They must have been understaffed. We started with the PEI mussels with Thai curry sause. Delicious!!! For entrees, we had the Prime Rib and Braised Short Ribs. The Prime Rib was accompanied by mashed potatoes and a popover. The short ribs were accompanied by rice with cheese topping. Both entrees were excellent.

Attended for a small wedding recently upstairs at Churchills. Great venue for a small ceremony and dinner. I had the salmon with coconut rice and my wife had the chicken..both were absolutely delicious! Compliments to the chef and serving staff. Highly recommend for sure!! thank you

Me and my husband went to Churchills for our dinner date for the first time and our experience was good I love the ambiance and I love spicy food they serve exactly what I wanted 10/10 for everything

Excellent place for dinner. Attentive staff very friendly and delicious food. Especially loved the oysters 🦪 ,salmon and prime rib was made to perfection. Thank you for making us feel so welcome Jimmy. Highly recommended we look forward to coming back.

We’re fairly new to North Bay. We had heard Churchills was the place to go for fine dining and steak. So we went there for my birthday.

It started off rocky with the wine we chose being out of stock. Not a problem it happens and we ended up with an alternative that was awesome!

We ordered Burrata and Pear salad and scallops to share as appetizers. Both dishes were very good scallops were cooked well and the salad was fresh and tasty.

We ordered the Filet medium with layered potatoes and a side of mushrooms and New York strip medium rare with Parmesan fries.

Well, my filet came medium rare to blue with a truffle sauce that should have come on the side. It was watery. The layered potatoes reminded me of hospital food. No flavour. The steak was tender but not what I ordered in doneness. This is the first time I’ve not finished a filet when I’ve gone out.

The NY strip was ordered med rare and it came well done. We had to get a new steak that came med well to well done depending on where you cut on the steak. The steak had silver skin which I’ve seen in steaks at lower $$$ restaurants. That lining was unexpected as it’s easy to remove and often missing from fine dining restaurants. Unfortunately it was not fine dining quality.

They did try to offer me a birthday drink on the house as a sort of consolation but I refused that and dessert as my appetite was spoiled after the meal.

All this said, the server was very nice and sweet. She was attentive and professional and we tipped her very well.

It was an unfortunate experience as I’d heard such good things.

Worst experience I’ve ever had. Overfill on Valentines Day and extremely rude staff ( the older man with glasses). Reservations mean nothing here.
Will Never Ever go back!!

1. Not enough parking spots available.
2. They purposely overbooked customers on Valentine’s Day (had booked here over 2 weeks prior).
3. Older man in glasses I spoke to about our reservation had an attitude and I quote, “So does everyone else here, get back in line like the rest of them”.
4. Walked right out and took my money to Lot88.
5. Lot88 was already fully booked on V-day but when we showed up they were much more welcoming and did their best to accommodate us. We thankfully ended up with a table and had a great night.
6. Want to be treated like normal human beings? Well, then don’t eat at Churchill’s.

Excellent food, atmosphere, and friendly staff
Kaili was an absolute delight and we were lucky to have her serve our table.

Great place. I will go back, there are several items I want to try
