We got expired pop
We found this place after visiting some state parks in the area. We noticed they had a limited menu on what is available each day, some specialty drinks (full bar available), nice vibe, location, and atmosphere. We decided to give it a go! We had a short wait in line before ordering our food and first round of drinks. The hostess was all smiles with a great attitude. She explained the process and we picked a nice 4 top overlooking the marsh (sit anywhere you like) The place was jumping @ 2:30pm on a Sunday. Seems like a local hangout. This restaurant does have an uncommon ordering methods and drink pickup. (They ask to take payment when you order upfront so they can have your payment on file.) We both ordered the fish (swordfish) tacos (2) that came with beans/rice. The food was not complete. The fries were hot and fresh, but the fish tacos only had a piece of blackened swordfish with sprinkled cilantro/parsley and a line of hot sauce. The photos online do not match what was ordered. Hot tip to for the kitchen…add some red cabbage, tomatoes, or other taco garnishes to make it a complete taco (hot sauce on side). Our food was okay, we won’t be ordering the fish tacos ever again. Our side of beans/rice was cold too. The bartender was hard at work and everyone was picking up their own drinks. They had food runners that looked as if they didn’t want to be there some had a smile every now and then. The kitchen is located upstairs and all the employees had to go up and down including the dirty dishes. Not a good set up for any employee. Nice bar on the waterfront, but not anything to write home about.
Very unique location and view but that’s where the positives end. Counter service and find yourself a (hopefully clean) table. With all the seafood choices in the area, we would definitely pass on The Wyld next time. We are locals and live 5 mins down the street. We enjoyed this place years back but it’s changed for the worse if you are here for good food and good service. The potions were very small and food is mediocre at best. The kids shrimp and fries had definitely been sitting under a light for a while. Very hot hard grilled shrimp and fries with the same texture. Not my first rodeo. Heat lamp dinner. Save yourself the time and $$$ and go try Fish Tales in Richmond Hill or Flyin Fish on Wilmington or Erica Davis in Thunderbolt if the seafood craving hits. All of these do it so much better.
Not a true dining restaurant, had to wait in line to order, go to bar pick up drink and then wait in line to pay when you leave. Bartender rude, she yelled at customers to pick up drinks on side of bar not at front. The food was good, but not small portion for the cost.
We had an awful experience, get ready for this tirade!!! I can’t get over how rude the staff was. Aside from the person taking payments at the front and the bartender we were treated like we didn’t matter. We have been patrons since before it was the Wyld and bought friends by boat frequently. This new version of the Wyld does no justice to the space or the beautiful view. The process is what they started during Covid, you order at “the front” like a cafeteria, and have to get everything, other than the food yourself. Not to mention wanting to order more food? You have to wait in line at the front…again…and add to your tab. We asked for plates and napkins when a waitress walked by and she turned her back saying nothing - returned with plates and napkins saying “in the future the plates and napkins are at the bar”, walking away before anything could be said. I decided we should speak with someone about our experience prior to leaving (we boxed up our meals so we could get out of there). I started with someone I know from the previous ownership and man who brought our meal, who never said who he was, joined the conversation. He looked at me and said “you can decide to be a patron or not be”. This is how the new “hospitality” works??? I should have left at that point but wanted him to hear my actual experience. He ended it with saying that we were lucky he even said our drinks were ready at the bar, he doesn’t do that for everybody. SERIOUSLY?? We know a lot of folks and will tell EVERYONE about this experience, not to mention making it known on these platforms. Southern hospitality is important around here and that special spot should be owned and managed by someone with a heart.
Nice restaurant on wharf. Pleasant. Food was good. Largely self service. But if the weather is good a real nice place to eat and relax
Terrible communication. We arrived by boat. Sat at the bar and ordered drinks.Bad attitude with the bartender. One of us went to order food and waited 20 minutes and noticed the person taking orders had disappeared. I asked the people in front of me to hold my spot while I went up to ask what was going on. I was told that they had closed the kitchen for 30 min. to keep up with the orders. NO ONE told all the people that were waiting in line what was happening. The people in line behind me left as did we. Very unique spot for a water view atmosphere. Terrible management and service. Limited menu.
The food was ok, nothing fantastic. The atmosphere was decent. The check in and checkout system was very bizarre. The staff was very rude and unhelpful.
Just Average food, nothing special here. There is a nice marsh view but not worth a $60 lunch for tacos a cheeseburger and 2 bar drinks. We were looking for a special place but didn’t find it here. Again not a bad place just nothing special.
Nice setting on the marsh. We ate early in the evening so we practically had the place to ourselves. Yummy food and drinks! We started with the She Crab soup and it had nice chunks of crab in a thin, cream based broth. Nice flavor! The fried shrimp were huge with a delicious white horseradish type sauce. Fries were good too! We also had fish tacos with large pieces of fish in them. Got two sides—Brussels sprouts and collards and loved both of them—the collards had a nice tang to them (maybe cooked with some pickle juice?) and the sautéed brussel sprouts were tender with a delicious glaze! My craft gin and tonic hit the spot! Definitely recommend!

This place has a fabulous location with a beautiful view. The ordering process (at the cash upon entry) is an adjustment, but fine. The food was beyond mediocre. I ordered a clam roll. What I got was a minuscule over toasted hot dog bun with mini fried things inside & 2 pieces of lettuce. No way there was clam inside the fried part. The drink was watered down something. Should we have complained? Yes. Could we have found staff? No. Worth going to sit & enjoy salt marsh/fancy boat view, but ordered the cheapest thing possible.
If southern hospitality is what you’re looking for you have come to the WRONG place. This post covid dystopian restaurant model nightmare runs much like a social credit score system in communist China. No cash (just what big daddy government likes) Weak menu (all fried Sysco crap) and no interaction with any employees. The one wait staff that we actually saw that also dropped off our food was a robotic emotionless”Grace Jones” cyborg who couldn’t even fake a smile. The food was mediocre. They serve ketchup packets with HFC. The only things this place has going for it is the view and the soft rock sounds of the 1970’s. Don’t waste your time eating here.
There is no better place to spend a sunny day within easy driving/Uber distance from Savannah's historic district. The location and surroundings are beautiful, the staff is fun and helpful, and they all work as a cohesive team. We were caught off guard by the initial ordering process on arrival, but it actually works out really well. You can always order drinks from the bartender once past the food ordering counter. We enjoyed every cocktail on the menu (literally tried them all) and several of the food items. Perfect tomatoes, tacos, and shrimp roll. Hector at the bar is pleasant company if you move from a table to the bar, and he has lots of knowledge of the area.
We love this place! When friends and family visit, we like to take them here because their food is pretty great and they have a chill ambiance on the marsh that everyone always loves. It’s an outdoor restaurant so you want to go when there’s good weather. You order at the entrance and then they bring your food to your table. Their staff have always been helpful and friendly. The big reason why I can’t give this place 5 stars is because they have a pretty limited menu as far as entrees go, and it’s kinda pricey for the smaller plates you get. Highly recommend the fish tacos fried okra, and marinated tomatoes, though!
We wanted seafood while visiting Savannah that had atmosphere and also accepted dogs. We found it at The Wyld. We enjoyed a very nice lunch on the deck overlooking the water while our small dog slept under the table. The staff offered water to Cocoa and were friendly.
