Tried this place a few times when it first opened and wasn’t blown away but the newer management has really done a fantastic job improving everything. Food and drinks are great. Now is the time to give it a second chance.

We have been here several times since moving to the area. We've never been disappointed. The service is always great, the food is awesome and they have some great beers & interesting cocktails. Highly recommended. And thanks to Kate and Riley, who did a great job looking after us on our 2 recent visits.

This was only my second time at the BPH but was still surprised to have such rude waiters. The restaurant was mostly empty but they were very slow to respond and seemed confused and frazzled when they did. I noticed both times the staff was more concerned with an upcoming function.

My husband and I have been wanting to eat here when we visited last time, but they were closed over Christmas. This interior is nice with a bar section with stools and a few high-top tables. The restaurant has booths and tables which can accommodate larger groups. There’s also a private dining room in the back. Food was quite good. I had rainbow trout and my husband had steak- which he found a little tough but overall tasty. My fish was delicious. We found the alcohol prices to be a little on the higher side though. They have a good selection of Canadian craft beers on tap. My only suggestion is to have a wine list - I personally like to read instead of the server telling me what they are serving. Our server was quick and attentive and offered excellent suggestions to any questions we had (I believe it was Tia). We’ll definitely be back to try other dishes😀

The Block is such a great place. The atmosphere is great and the food is so, so good. If you have food allergies there's no issue with with finding something off the menu that is a great choice. And service is the best, Riley was friendly and accommodating.There's also so many options of craft beers and cocktails the bar tender will make for you. Food was less than mediocre...prime rib was warm, a little on the red side. Vegetables were raw and the yorkshire pudding was overcooked and no gravy or au jus on either... the app we had was disgusting, full of gristle.. no light beer and poor menu for wine...I'd be surprised if this restaurant lasts a year. And no you cannot make this right at all...my sister took me out for my birthday dinner and wrote you privately and all you did was defend yourself. A good restaurant owner would not respond that way. Never again. Lesson learned. Good luck on your future endeavors.

We had such a great meal this evening! KJ was our server and she was amazing, professional kind and very knowledgeable with the menu. It was our first visit but we will be back for sure.
We had invited a diverse group of employees with numerous culinary restrictions including vegetarian and Celiac. The staff was well educated on Celiac disease. The menu had numerous options available and they were easily able to accommodate each individual. The food and service were exceptional. This morning as we reflected on the experience we agreed that we want to return to this restaurant.

When the establishment first open food, and service were outstanding. We revisited for the first time since there first months of opening and our party of 4 was extremely disappointed. Service was horrible maybe it was just our waitress because we had other servers delivering our food, and drinks, but we watched our drinks sit on the bar for approx. 10 mins before they we're brought to us. Beer and Cheddar soup had such a poor flavor compared to times I've had it in the past. One couples food came out, about 5-10 mins later the second couples food came out and the guys had both ordered the surf and turf, both steaks were ordered medium rare, the first one arrived and once cut open it was if it had barely touched the grill, the second steak was over cooked. The feature of the night was a chicken parm, pasta portion was perfect, chicken cutlet was flavorless. Our fourth friend also got a steak Medium Rare and it was so over done she didn't eat it. We were unfortunately very disappointed as we want to love the restaurant because it has such potential.

Went for a work party otherwise didn’t really have any desire to try this restaurant out - pictures online of food look bland/dry and unappealing honestly. Was not surprised when food arrived and disappointed for this reason. Steaks were cooked incorrectly, sauces and dips were soupy we might as well have pulled out a straw to drink them. And everything was really generally flavourless. We started adding our own salt to the dishes and lemon to try and make them appetizing. Two steaks ordered, fish and chips, 4 shareables and an appetizer no one was happy with their food in the group of 7. Drinks were also not good - way too strong or just tasted bad. Really hope something changes because it’s a stunning location and good vibe.
