My suggestion to all going to eat at Winnies Pub / Churchill’s Restaurant is don’t bother. Take the extra time to find another place to eat. Five of us made reservations to eat at Winnies on a Saturday night. We arrived and were seated at a table, given menus and were about to order drinks when we were told by the waitress that they made a mistake and we could not sit at this table because they needed it for another party. No issue, we just slid down the bench past another empty table to a somewhat smaller table for four that the five of us squished into. Again no real issue, we ordered drinks and watch the servers move the empty table beside us up against the original table we were given and they proceeded to set it up for what we presumed was a larger group of diners only to find out that the five of us were moved to a smaller table, while two larger tables were put together to seat another group of “five” individuals. Talk about being made to feel like second class citizens!! We eventually ordered our meals - my plate was actually touching the plate of my friend to the left while my knees were touching my friend to right who they pulled up a chair for and placed at the end of our table meant for four. Meanwhile right beside us the other group of five diners enjoyed the space of sitting at two tables meant for eight or nine diners. Food was at best OKAY but leaning towards ‘time to get a new chef ‘ ( my Chicken Alfredo was like soup and Luke warm) Service was not the greatest ( when asked for a spoon for his tea, my friend was told by the waitress to use the spoon from the sugar bowl???) I think you get the picture. I certainly will not be returning and intend to let anyone I know that they should avoid this place. For a restaurant and pub that was supposed to be fine dining and excellent food in reality is nothing more than a greasy spoon with attitude !
