The squid ink pasta was nice albeit salty (haven’t had it before so maybe thats what it’s supposed to taste like?)I enjoyed playing a game with friends while waiting for our meal. However I have to give only one star for atmosphere as the state of one toilet at this cafe was abysmally poor with stains in bowl & a dirty toilet environment. I had to leave after that. I think y’all are shortstaffed because why was the toilet left in that state???

As a first-timer, it was disappointing. I came to the recommendation of my best friend who was there. Our orders took longer & even forgot one of our orders. My order came first & my friend watched me eat while she waited for her food, by the time her food came I was almost done my meal. We ordered all our food at the same time, and the dining experience was not the greatest. It felt like we were forgotten similar to other reviews. It doesn't matter how busy it may have been. Every customer should feel they are valued. I tip on experience, and unfortunately, this was the most disappointing service I have had this year.

SO HOT and STUFFY, TERRIBLE SERVICE! FELT UNWANTEDI was there for 30 mins and was not even given water nor didn’t the waiter come to us once. They sat us in the very back corner where there were puddles of water and was so hot and stuffy we were sweating and so uncomfortable. We ask to change seats which was intially responded with.a yes and then they started letting new customers take the available seats… Server was taking orders to customers that came after us…Definitely did not feel welcome and left and mind you we are three brown women and we were terribly disappointed.Food menu was overpriced for the most basic items. So glad I left! We went to evviva (literally down the street) with much more variety and better atmosphere, customer service and care. The food was amazing too. Not sponsored lol but a reminder to go where you’re wanted.

came for brunch at 11am on a saturday. ordered chicken and waffles, smoked duck eggs benny, and mixed fruit pancakes.chicken and waffles - chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. waffles were too dense for my liking and a little on the savory side.smoked duck - they gave a lot of duck but a lot of it was chewy cartilage or fat. otherwise, it was a good eggs benedict.mixed fruit pancake - took a while to come out but they let us know that it would take 20 min when we ordered. they made us the wrong pancake, but apologized and then made us the correct one. in terms of taste, the pancake was super dense, which i wasn’t expecting, so i wouldn’t get it again

The lady server here today was extremely rude. She didn’t even look at us and slammed the plates on the table when serving. I don’t recommend this to anyone.

What a fantastic place! The food is visually presented in an artistic and creative way, is very delicious, yet pricing is very reasonable. Breakfast, lunch and dinner possible. Having actually lived in the 70’s, I can tell you that it feels very authentic 70’s (which is trendy right now), but with a modern sensibility. It feels like you’re hanging out in a 70’s family room, with board games, panelling, and even bicycles and bookshelves for decor. A perfect place to feel socially safe, build familiarity with a new person of interest, feel like you’re among family, etc. This place is hip without being pretentious. It is the perfect amount of busy - feeling alive without feeling crowded. Clientele includes hip young urban, post-secondary, Gen X, and families too: pretty much everyone fits in here peacefully together. Can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s bright, warm, welcoming, optimistic and innocently happy (but not mindlessly delusional) - just what is needed right now to provide an alternative to the current social fad of exploiting negativity and pessimism. Want to be a REAL rebel: try spending some time here living off the grid - in REAL LIFE. Could you do it? I dare you to try it.
