Asian legend is a popular choice to have Northern Chinese food, steamed soup dumplings, pan-fried dumplings, and thick noodles. Pan fried dumplings bottom is golden and crispy. Dumplings are filled with tender meat and tasty soup. Awesome. Rice cake in fermented vegetables and meat is soft and chewy. Perfect. Deep fried tofu smell Soso good. Dipped into the sweet soya sauce is just beautiful. There is a refreshing flavor in Tofu, coming from soy bean. Then, there is a layer of sweet soya sauce. It is a wonderful sensation to your taste buds. The smokey crispy duck is amazingly juicy and flavorful. It is a must-have. After much strong flavorful dishes, the simple chicken white thin noodles in vegetables soup reset your palettes. The thick Shanghai noodles, I love it because I need it to enjoy the thick chili sauce. Last but not least, the puffy dessert is the best. Red bean paste inside covered by egg white Custer, then covered it with dazzling of sugar. It takes 20 minutes to make. So order it when you order the main dish. Wonderful meal.

The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was great, especially considering the price.
? TIPPING IS MANDATORY HERE ?
I usually tip when the waiter takes the effort to explain the menu and take orders, but here, you order through a QR code with zero interaction. I hated that.
What I didn't like about this place is the card machine, which makes it very difficult and time-consuming to cancel the tip. I didn't want to tip, but the process was so confusing that my transaction got canceled. I ended up leaving a tip because it was taking too long and I felt uncomfortable saying I didn't want to tip in front of everyone. It feels like they are exploiting this emotion.

We came here as a group of 8, around 6:15 pm. We had previously made a reservation which was the right call as the restaurant was full with a decent flow of new groups coming in as tables finished and left. By the second half of our meal though, there were a decent number of free tables.
The place looks decently clean but is very crowded. The dining room itself is a maze as there's very little space to wiz by between tables, in addition to how busy the dining room is. The washroom is similar, at least for the women's washroom, as the stalls are very narrow with the door having just enough room to swing past the toilet to close and does not leave you much room to step aside without touching things. The cleanliness of the washroom was mediocre. I also didn't like that there was only one soap dispenser for both sinks, whereby you have to wait if the sink before the dispenser is occupied, which meant only one sink was really used at a time.
The food was okay in my opinion. We ordered 10 dishes total:
1. Shanghai Style Casserole Stew with Tofu Knots, Pork & Bamboo Shoots: surprisingly one of the best dishes of the night. The pork was salty and fatty as expected. I liked how clear the broth was which was nice to drink and the cabbage was nice and soft to chew.
2. Pork Chops with Spiced Salt & Pepper: this was my favorite dish of the night but even so, it wasn't as good as other comparable spots like Congee Queen. The pork chops were tender but could have been more flavorful and fragrant.
3. Braised Shrimps with Chili Sauce: this dish was not what was expected from reading the Chinese name. The portion was quite small as well. Shrimp size was decent but I would've expected bigger for the price point.
4. Preserved Pork with Vegetable in Cream Sauce: this was yummy, kind of like a pasta but sub veggies. There was a very small sprinkle of the preserved pork though, as you can see from my photo so you couldn't even taste it, especially when sharing with 7 others.
5. Braised Eggplant & Tofu with Chili & Garlic Sauce: this was one of the better dishes. It was spicier than expected but nothing unbearable by any means.
6. Fried Rice with Shredded Chicken: this had about 8 pieces of pineapple chunks in the entire dish, which meant only one piece per person. This was probably the blandest fried rice I've ever had!
7. Pan Fried Beef Potstickers: good, but average. Comparable to frozen dumplings you can get at the grocery store so nothing to rave about.
8. Pan Fried Shrimp Potstickers: same as the above. I prefer the texture of the beef more though, as the shrimp wasn't very tender, it was borderline mushy/soft to bite into.
9. Pan Fried Vegetable Dumplings: again, average. Most of the dumplings were broken which is not something you expect from a restaurant.
10. Deep Fried Egg Whites with Red Bean Paste with Sugar: I personally did not taste this as I don't enjoy this dessert, but it was quite oily.
The service was friendly and they were good at making sure our tea pots and water were refilled, but we felt rushed (even at times when there were empty tables, it's not like they needed us to leave to seat others). They even cleared one of our dishes, which still had shrimp on it! But they had taken it already before we could tell them - this was upsetting.
All in all, not worth it for the price point and quality of food. You can definitely get similar food of better quality elsewhere or the same quality for a more affordable price. So my three star rating is actually a little generous.
Parking: There's a decent sized lot for this plaza but it is always very busy and chaotic, so it can be difficult to find a spot.

⭐⭐⭐⭐Asian Legend serves really good food with great flavors in every dish we ordered. The quality and taste were impressive. However, one suggestion would be to reconsider the limit on certain items, as it did put a bit of a damper on the dining experience. Overall, still a fantastic place to enjoy delicious Asian cuisine!

Shibamata old meat stew
Came in with my family for lunch this afternoon and was seated right away. The restaurant was busy but seats were available. We ordered 2nd course peking duck, dry sautéed green beans, shrimp fried rice and pan fried chive dumplings and it was good. The portions were good enough for 3 people plus take home. However some of the items of the menu were a bit overpriced. Service was prompt and server was attentive. The restaurant was clean but a bit crowded because of the chairs on the side.Recommended

Service, Service and more Amazing ServiceJust came back from dinner with family. My uncle invited us to Asian Legend at Finch/Leslie. Great food, and just amazing service by our hostess. Sorry I forgot her name. I felt like I was back in Dubai or Mumbai at a 5 star hotel. The lady would anticipate seven of us and ask if we wanted more, the. put food in our plates. .The manager "Frankie" treated us like 5* guests. Loved the entire food/service & ambiance. It’s a perfect place for a group of 8 to enjoy at a single round table. Loved it!
