Had a really different experience in comparison to other cafes. Coffee, Food and Ambience were top notch.

I have always been a fan of Landwer and had good experiences in the past, but this time was really disappointing. We ordered cheesecake along with coffee and tea, and unfortunately it was a very bad experience. The tea had a very unpleasant smell, and I couldn’t tell whether the issue was with the cup or the tea itself. The cheesecake was frozen and had a slightly sour taste. After we mentioned it, they kindly replaced it with another cake. The only positive part of this experience was the polite and friendly staff; otherwise, it was a very poor experience overall.

We went for New Year’s Day lunch and waited over 45 minutes after ordering for food at a four-top. This included a plain butter pasta for our 4-year-old, which we repeatedly asked about.

We tried speaking to the manager, who honestly appeared more like a table busser than someone actively running the restaurant or managing the floor. There was no urgency, no clear communication, and no effort to prioritize a very simple kids’ dish.

Waiting this long for something as basic as buttered pasta is unacceptable. Poor organization, poor management presence, and a very frustrating experience overall. This was extremely disappointing and not how a restaurant should be run, especially during a busy holiday service. Even after getting our food two of the egg dishes were stone cold. So sad and disappointing. Tried to wave down the manger but again too busy cleaning table.

Our experience at Landwer Café was extremely disappointing and handled very poorly by the manager, Berkay. The issue started when the coffee we were served arrived cold. We politely asked if it could be warmed. The server initially agreed, then returned saying it couldn’t be reheated and would need to be replaced. Moments later, we were told the manager refused to replace it because we had taken a sip.

When Berkay(Manager) came over, we explained that we are regular customers and never asked for a free replacement — only for a basic expectation: hot coffee. He refused to offer any solution and showed no interest in resolving the situation.

What made it unacceptable was his attitude. He dismissively asked whether we wanted anything else or if he should just bring the bill!!!! even though we hadn’t finished our drinks and hadn’t touched our dessert. When we objected to this tone, there was no response or attempt to correct the situation.

This was a completely unnecessary escalation over a minor issue that could have been fixed in seconds. Instead, it left my family genuinely upset and ruined what should have been a pleasant visit. For a brand like Landwer, this kind of management reflects very poorly and damages its reputation. Not recommended this branch.

Spacious and bright restaurant. The restaurant is relatively quiet and it is easy to carry a conversation although it was not very busy when we visited.
The food is rather mediocre. The Mediterranean Shakshuka with eggplant was mostly tomato sauce and not much of flavor to it. It was accompanied by a tiny salad of few green leafs. The Landwers Famous Breakfast was rather meager. The spreads apart from the jam were barely edible. Both entrees were overprice considering the quality and portion sizes.
The service was good.

Unfortunately, our family dinner was quite disappointing tonight. We try to support local neighborhood restaurants, but this was an experience I would never want to repeat.

An 18% gratuity was automatically added despite there being no service whatsoever. We were never checked on, no one asked how the food was, and no one asked if we needed anything. When we were ready to leave, we had to physically stand up and put our coats on just to get someone’s attention. The two floor staff were busy talking and didn't see any sense of urgency. In the end the server didnt even bring our bill and left it to the floor manager. There was only one other table in the restaurant, so no she wasn't occupied.

The food was just as bad as the service. My meal (shawarma plate) was not good. First impression, was that it smelled like some sort of overpowering curry dish. Shortly after eating what little I could, I began to feel sick. When the floor manager said, “Thanks for coming,” I told them directly that the experience was really bad. I then rushed my family out of the restaurant as my stomach turned and vomited my dinner in the parking lot.

Service was nonexistent and the food quality was unacceptable. Charging mandatory gratuity for this level of service is unbelievable. Who is training servers these days? This was a severely disappointing experience from start to finish.

I come to Café Landwer often, and it’s always such a great experience. Mahdi always makes my Nutella latte perfectly, and I absolutely love the Nutella latte here. The drinks are delicious, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you can really feel the good energy in this place. Thank you to Landwer for creating such a lovely space with amazing people where we can come, relax, and truly enjoy ourselves.

I've been here a few times and have been disappointed every time. The food is bland, poorly executed, and far too expensive. The service is also slow and inattentive.

We were so excited about the menu and food, we legit forgot to take pictures. Ordered a London fog, and Turkish coffee, with the Mediterranean shakshuka and the new corn fritter with smoked salmon and poached eggs. Both were delicious! I loved the corn fritter, the textures worked so well together, creamy, crunchy, salty, and the eggs were perfectly medium, runny! Definitely a must try!

Absolutely superb food and service. The merguez shakshuka is incredible, and the food was also served surprisingly fast. Simply can't go wrong. Just need them to start opening additional locations outside of Ontario next :)

visited Café Landwer – Avenue Road today and had a great experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly.
I especially want to thank Arvin, the barista, for making a really delicious and well-balanced coffee. Exactly what I needed!
Overall, one of my best visits to this location. I’ll definitely be coming back.
