It was one of my favorite restaurants now it leaves a lot to be desired!! The jelly only has fish, 1 shrimp, and a squid ring. I for one will not return, and the prices are very high.

It was my first time here , and I must say the food was very good I had the Jalea (for those that don't know it is fried seafood with onion and tomato like salad on top which makes it good) and I also order Lomo saltado ( it is beef with vegetables stir fried like but much better ) the portions were good and generous , so people go and try the Peruvian food on this new restaurant

I first discovered Carmen y Pepe when they used to have a stall at the Dixie flea market. They now have a place on Jane St, La Esquina Chalaca and a stall at Downsview flea market.I have been to all 3 places many times in the last +5 years, everytime the food was amazing.Everything that I tried was delicious, the price is reasonable and portions generous.Try the Ronda Marina, causa, papa rellena, empanadas or anything else they have - everything is delicious.

(Translated by Google) Very bad. People who make good reviews must not know anything about Peruvian food. The lomo saltado never gets peppers, they season it a lot to be desired. The jelly only had fish, squid and only one shrimp. The grilled chicken was really charcoal burned chicken. I do not recommend to the good connoisseurs of Peruvian gastronomy. This is an insult to my beloved Peru.(Original)Muy malo.

When you eat at Carmen and Pepes there is a sense of comfort. It is such a homely environment with the most amazing people. My family and I have been going here for years and food is amazing, it feels as though it gets better every time. As a picky eater the food from here has opened up my pallete very much. This is hands down my all time favourite restaurant.

a friend of mine recommended this restaurant to me a couple weeks ago and I've been dieing to try it out ever since. i placed an order and got a parihuela, picarones, mazamorra morada, arroz con leche and anticucho. I was so excited to try this authentic Peruvian meal but was soooooooooooooo dissapointed when me and my family tried it... we didn't even finish our meal and I ended up cooking a quick meal to make up for it. The parihuela tasted like water, the seafood did not taste fresh. The picarones tasted old, wayyyyy too greasy and the sauce tasted like nothing!!!!!. the rest of our food tasted old and flavourless. Im sososo disappointed in this restaurant. I've had great Peruvian food and this was not it. I won't be back nor would I recommend this restaurant.

Ronda Marina (seafood platter): $30 (with tax); ceviche, fried seafood (jalea) & seafood rice (arroz con camarones). Prices are steep: almost everything on the menu is $18 and up, not just seafood

The seafood rice was uninspiring - like a significantly less tasty version of paella & served with 2 types of corn kernels: soft & big & crispy. Neither was the usual corn you get elsewhere.

For the ceviche I could choose from fish, shrimp and/or octopus. I got a mix of all 3. It was reasonably fresh, though the shrimp was only acceptably fresh. It tasted ok.
