I was so happy to return after 5 yrs. The atmosphere is beautiful and calming for the perfect lunch with friends/family. The artifacts used for decor adds to the historical touch along with the modern design of the restaurant.Food was on point. Samosas served with a chickpea curry along with red onion and other flavourful toppings.Squash ginger soup...could of had a bit more kick to it with ginger infused into the soup.Mixed platter sizzling hot served with garlic Naan paired perfectly with rice puao.Servers were very attractive to ensure you dinning experience was enjoyable. They were also a good source of recommendations and welcomed feedback.I will definitely return this summer and take a seat on the patio once it's open.Recommendation to dine here will be passed along.Thank you again for a beautiful afternoon dining experience.

Diwan is truly a hidden gem under the expertise of Chef Mark McEwan. The flavors here are simply amazing. I highly recommend trying the Beef Rogan Josh and the Sizzling Mix platter; they are absolute must-haves. The service provided by Chef Sumudu and the rest of the team is outstanding. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines exceptional taste with impeccable service, Diwan is the place to be.

We went for lunch on a Thursday. We ordered the poached pear salad ($32). It was overdressed and very small for the price. We also had the trout ($36) - tasty but again too much liquid for the dish. The fondant potatoes were wonderful. The beef roganjosh ($36) was decent but certainly there is much better around the city. The best part of the meal was dessert - kudos to the pastry chef. Overall, it was a mediocre $200 lunch that paled in comparison to the excellent food we have in the city. I would only go back for a snack and for the ambience of the museum itself, which we loved. It's surprising that Mark McEwan is listed as the executive chef because his restaurants have never failed us. The service was terrible - spilled items, no offer of cleanup (spilled tea for example and was going to just leave it) and the server did not know how to describe to dessert special that he offered to us.

A pleasure to dine in such a beautiful light-filled space. The food is beautifully presented and I appreciated the vegetarian choices. Looking forward to dining on the outdoor patio!

We had Winterlicious lunch. I had to email the manager asking, some of our attendees had to finish within an hour lunch and they did excellent job managed an hour lunch service. My only complain is they did not tell us the bill already had included with 20% service fee. However, it was worth experience. All food was so good and including a nice complimentary cocktail (cute pink sparkling non alcohol drink) that was very refreshing.

Its a little different in a nice way. well trained staff, great ambience, the food is excellent, small portions but beautifully presented, and prepared. If you have never been there before you are missing something. N.T.H.

Besting dining room. Staff seemed new needing some work on getting orders. Water glasses were dirty. Still a good value for winterlicous.. I am a repeat customer having enjoyed this beautiful dining room before. Keep up the excellent work .. just a few tweaks to get 5 starts.

Had a terrific late lunch at Diwan - fatoush salad, garam masala salmon and butterscotch ice cream. The dishes were delicious and the room was quiet enough to have a good conversation.Parking on site was easy and the restaurant was accessible for those with mobility issues.

Great Winterlicious event. Dining at Diwan, while visiting the Museum, or attending an amazing event as was the case yesterday, is always an uplifting experience. Food was great and healthy, although menu could have been more diversified. Service excellent and atmosphere very pleasant, looking out the window on a sunny winter day.

The restaurant as always was nice and the service was good. Unfortunately the food quality has slipped noticeably from earlier. The chicken tandoori was almost too dry to eat. Must have been sitting around for awhile. And the beef course while tasty was very greasy. The food didn't meet our expectations and we probably will not be returning anytime soon.

Came for winterlicious. Complimentary cocktail was ok but very watery. And food was good portion sizes but missing alot of flavour. Not really worth the cost but the ambience and quietness was really nice.

Delighted

We have enjoyed Diwan before and found it a lovely place to entertain guests. Our sole concern was the amount of light in our eyes (we were there for a 2:30 seating). The waiter misheard two of our orders but willingly replaced them, and the food was very good.
