Interesting place. Non-English speaking establishment for takeout only. Never had to re-cook my own sandwich before as the guy gave me raw meat in a toasted pastry. I guess if I spoke the language service man spoke then I could have explained how its not cool to get a raw meat sandwich. Donkey meat after I recooked it tastes like turkey meat stick as a close companion but tender like slow cooked beef with a look of pulled pork.

Very nice guy, delicious food, if you don't speak Chinese just point to the menu items like we did, we thought we would have to travel to china to get to try the donkey burger with the rice pastry, so we were happy we got the chance to try it

I love the donkey burger. The bread is crunchy and theeet is full of taste.
We also order intestines and stinky tofu.
The chef is great. Super friendly man, accommodating and taking time to answer my questions. He let us try the meat before I bought the burger.
The place is not that big but you can bring the food home.
They also sell raw frozen food and drinks.

The boss is really slow, running around cutting the meat in half. I don't know what I'm doing. In the middle of doing something, he suddenly started to get something for the customers behind him.
How many minutes can it take to cook over a fire, cut the bread, chop the meat, and roast it?
The efficiency is really low.

So freaking slow service. Just like Subway way to prepare a sandwich, I truly don’t get why it takes forever. And please serve your clients in order. PLEASE! OMFG.

Extremely low-key small place. Very clean and friendly service. Very little English spoken.
The donkey meat is extremely good, I can recall only reindeer meat as good.
There's only one table.
Braised donkey meat is delicious and something new to try for everyone.

I'm not really sure what to make of Donkey King. This is a popular spot in the Yonge and Finch area that is really the only place you can get this kind of food. We tried it out since we saw a lot of food traffic while waiting for our drinks next door. Since we were not the most comfortable getting their signature dishes, we opted for the lamb skewers instead. These were NOT cheap, despite the no frills interior and limited staff. I believe it was $7 for 2 pieces, which is comparable to the per piece price you'd find at more upscale places. I will say the man working there was kind and helpful despite our Chinese not being the best. If you don't speak Chinese, you may have a hard time ordering.

There is seating inside but I really cannot imagine anyone sitting there and dining. The tables and chairs do not look the comfiest or cleanest, and the air inside is quite stuffy with the scent and oil from cooking. I would only do take away here.

Overall the lamb skewers we ordered were good, but the price did not match the low-budget and dirty interior of the shop.
