Would not visit this restaurant for the quality of their persian food $$$, many other restaurants available in the GTA for fresh authentic/delicious persian cuisine... I would definitely not visit this place if it's the first time that you're looking taste persian/iranian food... although the restaurant is designed and decorated like Persia/Persepolis...the quality of the food is poor. Maybe 🤷♂️ look into changing the management

Delicious and high-quality Persian cuisine with friendly staff and a beautiful atmosphere. We had such a wonderful time and I’ll definitely visit again soon. The Barbari bread was amazing—served warm and fresh out of the oven. The koobideh was juicy, the chicken leg kebab was tender, and the kabab torsh was perfectly marinated. The portions were generous; my only preference would be for softer rice.

Absolutely ridiculous service today. The quality has really gone downhill. We waited over 50 minutes for just two dishes (Koobideh and Joojeh), and the place wasn’t even busy. Hardly anyone was there, yet no waitress on the floor and no service for a long time.
At one point I had to wave from far away to get someone’s attention. Instead of coming to the table, the woman (manager or owner, not sure) just called out from a distance asking how she could help. Very unprofessional. Meanwhile, the waiters were standing at the bar talking loudly to each other.
When another waitress finally came to clear the table, she kept asking us one by one what to take, instead of just removing the finished dishes. Not well trained at all.
The washrooms were absolutely disgusting, and even the cutlery wasn’t properly washed — knives had spots on them. Very unpleasant.
It’s no surprise the business has dropped. After this experience, I will never go back.

Gilaneh was quite crowded, but it had a really nice vibe for a get-together. The food was good, much like other Persian restaurants, but I wouldn’t say it stood out significantly, especially given the prices. We ordered vaziri, mahicheh, kebab torsh, and bademjun kababi. The kebab torsh and eggplant dish were definitely worth trying. Overall, it’s a nice spot to experience once and great for bringing a group of friends, but it wouldn’t be my go-to when I’m craving Persian food at that price point.

I highly recommend Gilaneh Restaurant to everyone. Their Kabab Torsh truly captures the authentic taste of Iran—it instantly reminded me of the real Kabab Torsh I had back home. The atmosphere is beautiful, and when you walk in and see the Persepolis decorations, it gives you such a warm and nostalgic feeling, almost like being back in Shiraz.
The food is absolutely delicious. I tried the Kabab Torsh and it was fantastic. My friend had the Koobideh, which was good too, but honestly the Kabab Torsh was the star of the night. The appetizers, especially the Zeytoon Parvardeh, were also very tasty.
When I had the Kabab Torsh, I truly felt like I was back in Iran—the last time I enjoyed it like this was at Gilaneh in Iran itself. Such a memorable and authentic experience. I definitely recommend everyone to try it!
One small suggestion: it would be lovely if you could add slim traditional tea glasses to the kitchen, to serve tea. ( Estekan Kamar Barik)

We came from the Bay Area in the U.S., where we know what good food means, and we truly enjoyed our time here. We’ll definitely be back whenever we visit Ontario again!

We went to this restaurant last night with a large group, hosted by my brother. We ordered a lot of food, but there was a mistake when taking the order. They brought us an extra dish that we were sure we hadn’t ordered. Instead of trusting the customer and solving the issue, they insisted that we had ordered it and made us pay for it, only offering that we could take it home.
Also, I personally had ordered a dish without rice, but they brought it with rice. When I mentioned it, they said the rice comes with the dish and still charged for it. If that’s the case, they should clearly inform customers at the time of ordering, not after bringing the food.
At the end, when we were paying, our server (the waitress) ignored my brother when he said goodbye, which felt impolite.
Overall, the service was not professional, and the order-taking process was not handled properly. If you plan to dine here, make sure to confirm your order multiple times, otherwise you may end up paying for food you didn’t actually want.
