It’s been awhile since I last went to Hazel’s Diner.
So I insisted me and my husband should go this afternoon .
Now they have new looking menus but some options are not clear: like the Benny on Pancakes? It looks like you ask for the Benedict with salmon on regular English muffin bread and the pancakes. Come a part (that’s what the waitress explained when asked. She later apologized for not checking to make it clear).
And when you go to a Diner for a chocolate milkshake you are not expecting it to be served in a capuchino glass with Hershey syrup still showing. Milkshakes in Diners are served in tall glasses with lots of what makes it a ‘Shake’ ! Sometimes they even give you the extra !
Very disappointing experience!
Don’t think we will go back, which is too sad as it is supposed to be a neighbourhood staple (at least it used to be ).
Classic brunch and diner food. Had a very pleasant experience, food was great, staff were kind and accommodating, cozy seating. We will be back!
Great menu and great service!
Used to love this place but ate there today and was a big disappointment. Sausages tasted like salty fat mixed with bread and cooked 5 days ago and reheated. Cook needs to relearn how to cook eggs sunny side up. Little uncooked white ok but not what I was given.
Very good service and good food.
Food was mediocre. Ordered the goddess omelette with tomatoes and they forgot the tomatoes. We also got a fruit bowl and were enjoying it until we noticed a blueberry had mold on it. Gross and they didn’t even waive it from the bill.
The homefries were really tasty though. Shame, not as good as it could/should be.
Amazing food and service. Even with a full house you will receive the best attention and service! Another great tip is there is real milk and cream for coffee no milkettes.
Their TPA Benny is my fave. Great atmosphere and service
Hazel's Diner on Yonge Street provides a consistently excellent breakfast dining experience.
I've eaten there twice. First time the burger was amazing, ground fresh and well made. Second time not do much. So depends on who's in the kitchen I suppose. Service is exceptional though. Quick, friendly and on point. There's a nice diner feel to the place.

The waitress was super friendly! However, I noticed a bit of an unpleasant, chemical-like smell in the restaurant (at least to me). My food was just okay, and unfortunately, there were quite a few flies competing with me for my meal, even though I was seated fairly far inside.
Love this place! So cozy and inviting, and the food is delicious!
We visited Hazel’s Diner recently, and unfortunately, it didn’t leave a great impression. The first thing I noticed was a layer of dust on the front counter, which wasn’t very inviting. On top of that, the dishes on our table weren’t cleaned properly, which was disappointing.
I ordered The Caker, but it was really dry and lacked flavor, making the meal pretty underwhelming.
The one positive was the server, who was friendly, respectful, and very attentive. She genuinely tried to make the experience better, and her excellent service is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1.
Hazel’s Diner has potential, but they need to focus more on cleanliness and the quality of their food if they want to stand out.
The food is not satisfying because I'm not confident in the chef's skills.
Excellent breakfast spot. Food and service was great- and free ice cream for the kids!!!
