Good service, good food

Emilio Zarris

I loved and thoroughly enjoyed the taste of all the dishes that I ordered. 1.) Beef Salad 2.) Fish Sauce Chicken Wings 3.) Golden Crispy Chicken Rice 4.) Dodging Sizzling Beef Steak

I enjoy delicious foods from every culture. This is my current favourite Vietnamese restaurant. I discovered it less than a month ago and I've returned 5 times already.

I’ve been there twice. The noodle soup and the noodles with beef and salad were really good. However, there’s one thing that needs improvement — the menu should have more pictures. For someone like me who isn’t familiar with Vietnamese food, it’s quite difficult to order because I have to imagine what each dish looks like. I asked the server, but he couldn’t explain it well in English. Please, please add more food photos to the menu!

Tonight we just randomly walked-in to La Sen and found that it was a very good Vietnamese restaurant. Nice dining environment, good services, meat and veggies are so fresh. The food we tried were very tasty and have an authentic Vietnamese flavour. If you want some Vietnamese food in this area, you can’t miss it!

The atmosphere is very cozy, warm, and has nice decorations. First time here tried the golden crispy chicken with rice. The chicken was really crispy and tender, and comes with soup and sauce on the side. Tried the grilled pork chop with rice the second time here, also very tasty and the potion was very filling. Service was very nice and helpful.

I got the chicken pho, it was very good but also pretty salty. We also got the vegan Banh Mi and spring rolls which were very good. The tea was also really nice.

A cool small spot for some tasty pho. Had the grilled chicken pho and came with a big portion of chicken. Would come again.

Heard some good things about this place.

The chả giò was pretty good, but a tad oily. The pho broth was very aromatic and rich. Although the portions are very generous, I found the chicken in the cơm tấm to be bland and dry. The durian coffee didn't have much coffee flavor to it, as all you could taste was cream.

Ive been coming to this spot since it opened, at first service was abit slow but during the years they have been here, they got better. Im satisfied every time I come here for lunch on my own or dinner with my kids. With the prices similar to other pho stores, I find that this place delivers 100%, you get a portion that is worth the money and the taste of their food is delicious. I will keep coming to this place for a good wonderful meal.
I hope this place continues to grow and keep serving some delicious meals.

The interior of La Sen was clean and serene. They had an artificial cherry blossom tree and the ceiling and walls were decorated with woven bamboo art. The server was friendly and took our orders in a timely manner.

We ordered the Lunch Combo which lets you choose an appetizer, a main and a drink. We chose the fried spring rolls (5/5), beef pho (5/5) and a can of soda. We also ordered the Hoi An Style Chicken Rice (3.5/5).

Fried Spring Rolls were crispy and generously packed. The sauce was a bit on the sweeter side. I prefer the sauce to be more on the savoury side but that’s just a personal preference.

Beef Pho had thinly sliced beef and the broth was mild, clean yet flavourful. I would say their broth tasted on the healthier side compared to other places we’ve been to. It wasn’t heavily seasoned with salt/spices/herbs which gave it a refreshing taste. The vegetables that came with it tasted fresh with a crunch to every bite.

Hoi An Style Chicken and Rice was okay. The chicken itself was served lukewarm which was quite a let down. It was also on the chewier side and felt a bit dry. Although it did come with the chicken broth on the side which helped a lot with the dryness. The broth also tasted mild and clean, leaning more towards that healthier and rich flavour. The rice and salad was topped with crispy fried garlic which gave the dish a nice crunchy texture and enhanced the overall flavour profile. The salad was fresh and had some tanginess to it.

I also wanted to add that their in-house hot Pandan tea is really delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I went and bought a bag of the loose leaf tea.

Super happy we came here for dinner today. Service was impeccable and taste plus portion is unbelievable. We got the weekend / dinner beef hot pot special for two plus a order of spring roll. Yum yum yum. Love the refillable soup and meat on this pho. Will definitely come back again. Plus free parking! Not sure if it's 2 hours or 4 hours tho!

At the bar, the small, fair-skinned Asian lady who makes the drinks and wearing a black and white horizontal striped t-shirt and her hair up in a claw clip was digging her nose furiously next to the cash register in plain view for a whole minute. She was determined to get something off her nose. Then she proceeded to slice lemons with her bare hands without washing them prior. Disgusting.

The male waiter wiped a spill off the floor with his bare hands then proceeded to portion the bean sprouts with his bare hands in little saucers and put in the utensils in the cup holders. There were big flies landing on the table signalling this place is dirty. The worst part is they didn’t care, this was all done in plain view. I felt sick. Never going back. If this is what they do in plain sight, imagine what goes on in the kitchen. Dirty as heck. A visit from the health inspector is imminent.
