I've always wanted to come here, but it's too far from where I live. Today I got the chance to try their food. I bought chicharon, kwek kwek, and adobo peanuts.
1. Chicharon - has a bitter taste to it. And probably used old oil that I instantly got stomach ache.
2. Kwek kwek - they used not the quail eggs, but normal eggs cut in quarters. Too much batter ( which doesnt taste good as it feels like I'm eating bread dipped in siopao sauce. The sauce that came with it taste like siopao sauce.
3. Peanuts - this one is decent. Most of them looked burnt and had to pick the less burnt looking peanuts.

Total Cost: about $35

Conclusion : Not worth the drive.

Mang Mar's is honestly so good. The pancit has that perfect, homey flavour that really brings me back to the Philippines. Their dinuguan is super rich and smooth, probably some of the best I’ve had. And the chicharon is very crispy and quite addictive. You can really tell everything is made with care and prices are reasonable. Would recommend to anyone looking for delicious, legit Filipino food.

Love this place! The chicharon is super crispy and flavorful, and everything tastes fresh. I'm an especially huge fan of the pancit. The staff are friendly and make you feel at home. It’s a great spot to go when I'm craving filipino food!

Every time I am in Bathurst area during weekends I make sure to buy 2 trays of pork chicharon @ $27 each. But lately I have noticed that almost 1/3 of the tray was really tough to eat and only go to waste bin. Sometimes we suspect that old (not freshly cooked) ones were mixed in (hopefully not).

Can I also suggest to the owner to only use pure lard (pork fat) and never use seed oil (vegetable oil, corn oil, canola oil, etc.) Seed oils are not healthy.

Been staying at the hospital for a month now and tried few Filipino restaurants. Mang Mar's chef, in my opinion is born to cook. Just wanna mention though, I ordered a combo that says 3 eggs and I only got 2 :')

Anyways, even that fried eggs tasted like home. Thanks for cooking well!

Super sarap!!! It was my first time trying Mang Mars, as it’s been on my Foodie List for a while now. The chicharon was sooo crispy and had a good balance with crispness, juicy fat, and meat. If calories didn’t exist I would eat 8 of these all for myself in one sitting. Delicious!

Ordered through Uber Eats.

I got the fried milkfish with fried rice and egg, I also got the Shanghai rolls.

The Dangsilog which is the fried fish wasn’t cooked very well. You can still taste the fresh fish. The fried rice seems to be from previous days left overs as it was so hard. They could’ve microwaved it and I’d be okay with that. It appears it just came out of the fridge. The fish is so small that I felt it was a rip off. They also charge for atsara which is very common to be included in silog meals. Charging it is a bit too much.

Shanghai rolls is the same thing. It wasn’t thoroughly cooked. You can still taste the fresh meat and I wasn’t happy about it.

This was my first time and it was an unfortunate situation considering the generally pleasant reviews they have. I don’t think this restaurant really establishes consistently so I’m not ordering here again.

The lady who manage the store is a liar , I asked through by phone if the food is new cook and she said yes it’s always new every time its over , I went and run to the store hoping I can order or buy new cook when I arrived to their store the guy said there’s no more and he told me come back in an hour ! Omg I came from Brampton drive to Toronto just hoping and assuming to what she said it’s always new cook food damn it was so disappointing, very down.
I’m giving them million 0 reviews I do not recommend this store to everyone.

I recently tried crispy pork belly from this Filipino store for the first time — and wow, it absolutely blew me away! The pork belly was incredibly flavorful, with perfectly crispy skin and juicy, tender meat inside. Every bite was rich, savory, and packed with that deep, roasted goodness that makes pork belly such a treat.

Even though it was my first time trying pork belly, this experience was well worth it. You can tell it was made fresh with care and authentic flavor. I’ll definitely be coming back for more — this place knows how to do it right!
