I’ve been to Mapo Gamjatang many times, and it continues to be one of my top spots for gamjatang. They offer several variations of the dish, and no matter which one I order, the broth is always rich and flavorful, and the meat is so tender it practically falls off the bone. They are also generous with the portions, the staff are friendly, and the service is quick. I highly recommend coming here!

The flavor of gamjatang is good, a bit different from the other restaurants ive tried.
Seafood pancake has more batter than seafood and veggies!
We dined in the patio but the server didnt even bother coming out to check us after serving our order. We even have to go inside to ask for the bill and take out boxes.

I think the restaurant Mapo is really good, because the food was yummy and the staffs attitude was good. I would also like to recommend it to everyone else. There are lots of selections and there were even seats outside. It also got a cover so the people eating outdoors were not going to have sunburn. The only thing they could improve on is to have stiffer tables so they would be less wobbly and it would be easier to put more food on top. Overall it was a very good experience in this Korean restaurant.

I went here a week ago and my soup had an iron scrubber. I couldn’t eat even half of food and I complained it. And just a server said Im sorry and asked would you like to drink soda?. Also I paid all of fee even tip! Oner or manager should have come and taken measures. It was my fav restaurant in Toronto, but it’s not anymore because of cleanliness and service quality.

Gamjatang is their famous dish here and it tasted great. Just wished they added a tad bit more of potatoes! The staff here were so friendly, they refilled all of our apps and service was fast.
Highly recommend their fried chicken.

I came here with a friend and we got the pork bone soup. I got the large size and my friend got the regular. The different between the sizes is that you get more pork bones in the soup. The large had like 4-5 pieces. We also ordered the fried chicken in sweet and spicy sauce.
The food was delicious. The pork bone soup also came with glass noodles that alot of other places dont include. The side dishes were also really tasty and it's refillable. The love the kimchi here, its less vinegary and more spicy which i love for my kimchi. The fried chicken was also nice and crispy eith good flavor. There were a few pieces of rice cakes in the dish as well.
Overall the store was really clean, the atmosphere was nice and the staff were super tentative and friendly. This is my new favorite place for pork bone soup.

My sister wanted pork bone soup so we decided to check this place out. We each ordered a classic pork bone soup regular size. And while the service and atmosphere was good, the soup tasted like shin ramyun kimchi chigae with pork bone in it. Not bad but not the savoury pork flavour I get when I go to Owl of Minerva or when I make it at home. Other than that I did enjoy it, staff was polite and attentive and the vibe was good as it was a hot summer evening and there is patio seating. And while I would not come back here myself for the pork bone soup I would still recommend it to people to try it. Everyone has different tastes and palate.

Possibly the best pork bone soup in Toronto. There’s another location in Scarborough but this one is easier to get to.

The food offered here is good but the menu lacks much variety in terms of available dishes to choose from. All the soups are pork based, they offer Korean fried chicken but it only comes drenched in sauces (no dry rub option) and they have a bulgogi beef stir fry which is probably the best thing on the menu.
Staff is nice and service is good.

Their signature dish is great. The fried chicken was absolutely fantastic. Seems pricey at first but everything is big enough to be shareable.

I tried gamjatang with ramen ,slightly more expensive than the original, but it didn’t come with rice. My boyfriend had an original gamjatang, and the soup tasted different. His was spicier, which I found quite interesting. I personally liked the ramen version better, but it would’ve been much better if they’d included rice. Side dishes aren’t my favorite, but I did enjoy the radish kimchi.
