I was really disappointed with my experience at Nette’s Cafe. I had ube ensaymada but it was not soft at all — the texture was off and very inconsistent. The ube flavor did not taste like real ube; it was more like sweet potato with purple coloring. On top of that, the packaging was not properly sealed, which made me uncomfortable about the freshness and quality. I was expecting much better based on the hype, but sadly this did not meet my expectations.

I don’t usually post negative reviews, but I just had to share my experience kasi I was really excited to try it. I bought this biko on Sunday, and by today it already has mold. Wala man lang nakalagay na “best before” or kung when siya nagawa. Kita naman sa photo na konti palang nabawas ko. I was drawn by the hype since it’s made and endorsed by known celebrities, but honestly, it wasn’t even that good. You are better off buying from Alminz. Definitely not worth the $16 plus tax. Save your money and buy elsewhere.

I’ve been buying ensaymada from Nette’s Café since the very beginning, and I can confidently say: no one does it better. From the first bite years ago to the one I just had recently, the quality has never changed – soft, buttery, different type of fillings and generously topped with cheese , just the way a real ensaymada should be.
There’s something incredibly comforting about Nette’s. It’s not just the taste (which is absolutely amazing), but the love and consistency that goes into every batch. Whether I’m buying for myself, as a pasalubong, or for special occasions, I know I’m giving something people will truly enjoy. The texture is pillowy, the balance of sweet and salty is perfect, and it always tastes freshly made. In a world where a lot of things change, it’s refreshing to know that some things – like Nette’s Café ensaymada – stay reliably delicious. Highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet. And for those who have? You already know it’s the real deal.

I stopped by Nette’s Café and had such a lovely experience! I ordered the classic ensaymada and halo-halo, and both were absolutely delicious.
The ensaymada was soft, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet perfect with a cup of coffee. The halo-halo was a refreshing treat, beautifully layered and packed with flavor. It was clear that everything was made with care and high-quality ingredients.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. It felt like a great little escape from the busyness of the day.
Highly recommend Nette’s Café if you’re craving well-made Filipino treats in a warm, welcoming space. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!
