Full disclosure: I’m basing this review on 2 dishes only - Nasi Goreng and Mini Spring Rolls. I usually try to have a few dishes from a restaurant before reviewing but I unfortunately don't see myself getting food from Satay on the Road

Ordered from here because they offered a deal on the delivery app. I wish I paid more from a different Thai place as I did not enjoy the food I got from Satay on the Road.

I ordered only two items, the Nasi Goreng (Malay fried rice) and the mini spring rolls. The spring rolls were quite good… but let’s get real, it’s hard to screw up spring rolls. I found them to be crispy and the perfect snack. I also enjoyed the sauce it came with. The Nasi Goreng was a huge disappointment. There aren’t many restaurants that offer Nasi Goreng so when I saw that this place offers it, I jumped at the chance to have it. Horrible move as Nasi Goreng was lacking flavour and especially salt. This rice dish was so bland, boring snd underwhelming.

There are so many Thai restaurants in Toronto. Including a few that are in the same neighbourhood as this place so it’s a shame that their food isn’t good enough to stand out. Unfortunately, I don’t have a desire to try any other food from here.

The food is extremely bland and oily. There is a similar, but better (more flavourful) restaurant within walking distance. Go there instead.

I did a take out today. I don't recommend stir fried seafood or mango chicken but Nasi Goreng and Curry Pad Thai taste good.

Consumable!

Orange pad Thai... I had this same strange version in Ajax.

Green curry base was good but the veg was pathetic.

Skewers should be removed from menu. I got the sense it was the house special. Nope just another consumable.

This is a one time place, will not try again.

Needs a new chef, a smaller menu and well good food.

Sad to see this restaurant completely run down, empty seats at lunch time, use to be busy and inviting. The pad Thai lacked flavour, mushy and super oily!Definitely not the same as a few years ago when I use to frequent this restaurant!

Went for dinner last night. Place was empty. Food wasn't too bad but lacked flavor and the peanut sauce was very odd. When we got the bill we were over charged for an extra rice. That was taken care of but then we were given 2 bills with different totals. Off by like $1.79. Very confusing bills.

Place is freezing inside and the food is not good. The Pad Thai is ketchuppy noodles. The Nasi Goreng is not authentic at all. It's basically egg fried rice. The prices are low but that's part of the reason why the food is so bad.

I usually order from the Bayview location (highly recommend!). Ordered via skip the dishes and 1. Vegetarian oodles of noodles - I was sent just an order of plain, extremely greasy noodles. Having ordered this dish before it usually has tons of veggies (carrots, broccoli, lots of greens!) and isn’t this greasy. 2. Green curry was curdled and looked like it had been microwaved multiple times, veggies were very soggy. Took a couple bites and it was so bland! I hate to leave a bad review because I like the other location but this food was inedible. The also didn’t include any napkins or cutlery (and there is no option to add on skip)

Ordered Uber eats - crispy/spicy beef and rice one person special. I had fond memories of Satay growing up as a great place to eat. This food was barely edible. The beef was so tough and over cooked, it was really hard to get through. The mango salad I added was flavourless and wet. Nothing redeemable and I won’t be returning.
