SOZO Ramen Sushi

The food was tasty, but the server ruined the experience. My friends and I came to eat, and at the end, we all tipped the server, which was an older Asian lady. However, the server thought she deserved more, so she approached our table and asked why we didn't tip more. Take into account that we came around lunchtime, so it was quite empty, and each ordered around $20 and paid separately, so what makes you think we would each tip around 50% of our total?? She was also very rude when asking us and ruined the whole experience. This was a while ago, so I'm not sure if she still works there, but because of her, I haven't been back. Tipping is a way of saying thank you. If you are mad about your salary, then go get a second job or smth smh.

Love this restaurant !
The ramen tastes amazing and the sushi was so fresh. Tried their seafood don as well and seriously so good! It’s great to have a local restaurant catering such good quality food.
Also the staff at Sozo are always so nice and welcoming. I never feel rushed and it’s always such a treat coming for dinner here.
Sozo has easily become my boyfriend and I’s local favourite. We will continue to come here and will forever recommend Sozo to family and friends.

I had a pretty rough experience here. Aside from the food, I’ve gotta say it feels like zero effort went into hiring the staff. They were rude and on edge, which is crazy since there were only two tables and four people inside when I was there, while everyone else was kept waiting outside. The servers couldn’t handle it at all, seemed totally overwhelmed, and were even rude to people just picking up their orders. Anyway, this is the last time I’ll be coming here, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We've been loyal customers for five years, and this restaurant never fails to impress. The food is always delicious, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a good meal. We can't wait to return.

The food was really plain and did not taste particularly good. It tasted like a AYCE place but with the price of a really good restaurant. I don't think this restaurant violated any health regulations, so it's absolutely safe to go to and enjoy, but there are definitely much better options out there.

I've been ordering from this place for years and it is one of the best sushi places in my opinion! The food is super fresh and mouth watering! It is pricer than alot of other places but you definitely get what you pay for! I highly recommend:
- The salmon sushi pizza
- Any of the sashimi
- The hell fire roll (spicy)
- The mango dragon roll
- Tobiko salad
- Any tempura
- Miso soup

Just about everything on the menu is to die for!

One of the better Japanese restaurants I've been to. Tasty food for the most part. Sushi pizza was over cooked/fried and not that great sadly.

Vegetarian options: Not a large variety but enough that one wouldn't starve

Dietary restrictions: If you have an allergy they can accommodate to a limited degree (ordered no avocado n it came with n when reminded they took it back and remade it)

Wheelchair accessibility: Washroom is fully accessible, though the sink isn't accessible as there is stuff stored underneath making it impossible to actually access directly you have to go in as a side deal. But other wise its clean and decent.

Sozo is a hidden gem in a sea of sushi and Japanese restaurants - a literal one too tucked within the Consumers Road business park. I have returned a few times and with different friends; all who agree with me on this being a great restaurant.

Parking can be validated if you park in the parkade. However, it is easier to park across the street where your parking will be validated by the credit card you used to enter.

They're a small team as you are greeted with a warm, friendly welcome. Service is prompt and they are super attentive and look to provide a great dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. It doesn't get loud and you don't have to yell over other people just to hear each other - which I appreciate.

The food is the highlight. The sashimi platters feature some of the best sashimi I have had and at great prices. It is fresh and it just makes you smile as the sashimi melts in your mouth. Along with the sushi, it is prepared with care and the ingredients are of great quality. The rolls are done very well and portion sizes are great.

We've ordered other items such as the scallop wasa cup, soft shell crab (made very well), and chirashi don bowls. All of these dishes were very good and we would order again.

If you are looking for great sushi and Japanese food, Sozo is a great place with excellent service. The quality and taste of the food is consistent every visit.

Parking: We visit outside of office hours so plenty of parking across the street and in the parkade.

Such an underrated place just needs some exposure. Sashimi was so fresh flavorful and thick. Curry katsu don was really good too and prices are really fair
