Restaurant is very outdated however it was very clean. Staff were nice and attentive, opposite of what the other reviews say. Food was good. Definitely less greasy compared to other Chinese food. The rice lacked a little flavour but everything else we ordered were delicious. I would come back.

They didn’t turn on the AC so it was so hot. In spite of several request from us and other customers, they didn’t not turn it on immediately.

Vibe 3/5

OG OG Chinese restaurant near Bayview and Finch. Literally a very old skl vibe Chinese reso.

Service people may say it’s bad, but as a Chinese place, i rate it very good😂 yes they rush you, but it’s been like that since I can remember~ (so be prepared)

I loved their salted fish chicken fried rice and bitter melon with fried beef. Very flavorful. Also, their fried squid is to die for!! So flavorful and so perfect for another bowl of rice.

Also, all dinner order comes with soup, which is also greatly appreciated.

Overall 4/5!

Go there at 7:30pm, it only has 4 tables, usually it is full house. Maybe it is because the freezing rains. We order 6 dishes, they all come within 15 min. The dishes size are smaller than we expect. We have to order 3 more later. It sounds a lot for 7 people. We are too hungry and forget to take the photo. Prices are reasonable. The deep fried small fish (椒鹽白飯魚), Taiwanese style spicy mixed are good.

Disappointing Service – Not Worth the Visit

We recently dined at this small neighborhood restaurant, hoping for a pleasant experience, but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Our waiter seemed more interested in pushing the most expensive dishes rather than respecting our choices. When we ordered what we actually wanted to eat, his attitude noticeably changed.

By the time we received the bill, it was clear he was unimpressed with our total. His demeanor became dismissive, as if our order wasn’t “good enough” for the restaurant. For such a small establishment, hidden away in an unremarkable plaza, this kind of behavior is unacceptable. If they are going to judge customers based on how much they spend, they shouldn’t even be in the restaurant business. A true neighborhood restaurant should welcome all guests, not pick and choose who they think is “worthy” of dining there.

Plenty of other places in the area offer both good food and respectful service—this won’t be a place we return to.

Good service. Very good food including vegetarian choices. Good experience every time we visit for dinner.

Nostalgic homey Cantonese food that’s easy on the wallet. 10/10

This is a dumpy looking hole-in-the-wall and if you know Chinese restaurants, you know this place must be serious eats. And IT IS! There is not one dish I've had at this place that disappoints me. Staff is prompt (like no small talk, no smiles, CLASSIC), gets your order, tell you the specials and kitchen get to work. I can't read Chinese, so I'm probably missing out on all the Chinese specials on the wall, maybe I'll try google lens next time and decipher everything. You don't go to No Frills to cry about it being no frills. Atmosphere is exactly what I'd expect from a place like this, its clean, no fuss, no decor, you don't like it, you're not serious about Chinese food. Best snow pea shoots in town, its tender every single time so you know they've meticulously picked out all the chewy bits :chefs kiss:. It's definitely what I consider a hidden gem. I've been to Chinese "banquet halls" restaurants with less impressive food (you know, the ones with the traditional tacky decor). My only complaint is seafood selection is pretty "selective" on any given day (aka not available), the live-tank looks pretty piss-poor. Still, I ain't knocking it any stars because seafood effin expensive anyways, ain't nobody got time (or money) for that.

As very dated Cantonese Chinese
Good place. Price is average and so is the food. If you don't have other choices in this area of North York then this place is acceptable for a quick lunch

The food is decent but wow is the service terrible. The staff don’t smile, don’t say thank you, try to upsell you on the expensive items upon arrival while barely making eye contact. They also use disposable chopsticks which is not only a terrible culinary experience (eating $50 lobster with wooden thorny chopsticks?!), but is so wasteful. I wish they were better because it’s convenient from a location perspective.
