Our first table near the front was too cold, especially every time the entrance door opened. We were told we could move to any free table of our choice. In spite of choosing a table at the back, some in our party were still cold. Food and service were good although the server forgotten to give us separate cheques. Washrooms could use some cleaning or updating.

The venue was comfortable, with adequate seating, lighting, and customer separation. The food was good, given the cost. The wait staff were attentive, given the holiday season. I have no complaints and think it was good venue to meetup with a medium sized group.

Beware, restaurant had no record of open table reservation. They said this was common. Service was abysmal, basically non-existent, remarkable considering it was not busy. Food ok. No refills on beverages offered from the ghost server.

The service we received was horrible. After 40 minutes, with 9 people in our group the first two received their coffee but no milk was brought. The server did not return to offer coffee or take orders. We had to go to the front desk to ask for service. I don't know why the hostess didn't help by coming to help. You should note that the restaurant was not that busy. While the food was good, the service downgraded our experience

We were very disappointed on Sunday. I made a reservation online for December 17, as it was my mother and husband's birthday. When we arrived, we were met with them saying their online booking doesn't speak to their restaurant directly and they were overbooked. They asked did we plan on staying long, if which we said we were having a nice brunch as a family of 10, and would rather not be rushed. We were seated in the back, squished up against one of the computer/registers. Our drinks took 25 minutes to arrive, as they said staff started late. My son ended up not even getting his drink at all, which was only one of the lemonade drinks. The waitress was quite rude and made it quite apparent she did not want to be serving the table. She rarely came back to check on the table and was quite rushed and rude when she did. Our food arrived with cold fries for the kids and my step dad, and the final meal came out almost 10 minutes after the others. Another wait staff walked past our table, having some spilled liquid and ice on her tray, and flicked it all over the floor right behind our table. I was terribly disappointed that this was the birthday experience I have given my mother and husband. We used to regularly go to Pickle Barrel but will not return and certainly not recommend to other. Very disappointed!

Pickle barrel has consistently sent us burnt chicken despite us putting in the notes to make sure they arent burnt. No such note should be needed. We have had enough when it happened yet again recently. Its time other customers are warned so we decided to take a picture to show it. Again this was NOT a one time event. This happens pretty close to every order made there. One other note, they also omitted the salad dressing on our 2 Greek salads. We were told we would get a full refund when we first called about our order having issues but when the GM contacted us he only gave $50. This was more like a third of what we paid refunded in the form of a gift card. We would have liked it refunded to our credit card but that didn't matter to Pickle Barrel.Stay away from Pickle Barrel unless you want your food burnt, missing dressings on salads, missing their sauce. Overall a very negative experience, typical for Pickle Barrel. No wonder they have had 2 of their locations closed in recent times.

Don't order the pastrami sandwich. Very little meat. The matzo ball soup was salty. Never going back.

I'm very disappointed this time around. My wife ordered 2 lbs of smoked meat and pastrami lean and thinly sliced. The meat was indeed lean but was extremely thick. It was not what she ordered and thick beef is not very pleasant. Pretty bad considering the price paid.

I was there over the weekend with my wife for lunch, 38 minutes we waited to get our sandwiches which were not to our looking , we were seated and it took 9 minutes and me asking the Manager or so I think she was to get drinks. I'm rating according to what The Pickle Barrel was last I was there. That's over 20 years ago. It looks like it's changed A LOT. It was so amazing and had the greatest deli sandwiches anywhere!! The menu was always big but it seems it's strayed from what it used to be. I started going there when I was a child, just under 50 years ago. I lived on and grew up on Leslie St. from the age of 5. I've lived on Vancouver Island for 20 yrs but Pickle Barrel would definitely be a spot I'd want to go to if I were to visit.

The food was excellent, but the restaurant was dirty. Floors were sticky, we had to move tables because there was food and liquid spilt under the first table and bathrooms were very dirty. The amount of service was limited. The waitress brought us water while taking our orders and only came back to bring us our food and to clean up our plates. I would only return for take-out. 3 stars only because of the food

If you are looking for a place for a gathering (we had 14), this is the perfect place to come together. Excellent environment to catch up with friends and great food, too. She gave us a nice cozy corner and it was just for us even though there were tables to allow other customers. This was on a Saturday afternoon so it was perfect for us. Excellent accommodating service from our server. She did a great job serving us and doing the final bill which included splitting up one bill from our 'main person' amongst the rest of the group including separate bills (individuals & couples). Excellent service!

I have always loved the Pickle Barrel, however why change what is working? They removed potato pancakes now thank goodness brought back. This location still makes the best ribs ever & that smear is finger lickin good! Markville probably closed down because they didnt serve the ribs! Biggest down fall here is the service is terrible the waitress has no clue to being cream for coffee then takes off for half an hour! I have had to call the place to get the waitress to return to table & management doesn't see or care! They must fire seasoned waiters otherwise this will sadly calapse & I am watching it slowly with no one but a few of as left to support this place once loved! Pls get it together

I recently tried the salmon in pickle perrel, and it was an absolute delight! The flavors blended perfectly, creating a unique and delicious taste. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the pickle perrel added a zesty, tangy twist that I couldn't get enough of. I highly recommend giving it a try; it's a delightful culinary experience
