Absolutely one of the top 5, if not the best Japanese restaurant in Toronto! The ambiance is cozy yet spacious, with perfect lighting. The staff’s service is top-notch, and most importantly, the food is outstanding. From sashimi and sushi to specialty rolls and other cooked dishes, everything is incredibly delicious. Prices are reasonable, and they stay open late too. Highly recommend!

Amazing sushi. Rolls are packed with fish. The rice is so thin, you can dunk it in soy sauce and it won't absorb too much. Everything I want from a sushi place

Definitely a hidden gem. A bit of a wait for food, but so fresh and generous portions for the price. Staff are friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed. A little outdated, but that’s perfectly fine given the excellent quality. Would dine in again.

This felt very much like a place overseas, prices were really fair, portions were very good and flavors were wonderful.
Above all else I judge Agedashi tofu because any good Japanese restaurant should care just as much for their most simple dish as they do their most fancy. Agedashi tofu is that dish for me and they do it justice, I have not had better outside Japan. There was care put in to making it, and the dashi stock served with it was perfect in balance.
I am going to have to come back at least once more while on this short trip I am here.

Iir was my first & last visit to this place.went there with my friend, who visits it frequently. I ordered the teriyaki chicken it the Huron noodles. There was plenty of noodles some peices of chicken, & no teriyaki sauce. When I asked she did bring it. It it supposed to be cooked in it. There was nothing else. I love eating teriyaki at Edo. Which has noodles fried white mushrooms broccoli & some other veggies. Their sauce has a wonderful taste to it, the chicken is nicely chopped up mixed with it all. My frien had a Bento box. Which she liked But I was disappointed with the Teriyaki chicken.

It was my first time dining at Umami House. I have relatives visiting from out of town and asked for suggestions on a place to take them for dinner. My son recommended we go here as it has a laid back atmosphere and food is good with lots of choices. We all enjoyed what we ordered. Friendly service with just the right amount of attention. Prices are fair. Food was attractively presented, fresh and tasty. I’d be happy to eat there again. I had lobster tempura and mango mille crepe cake. My cousin ordered the banana boat which I definitely want to have again.
Great value bento boxes with a little bit of everything. Perfect! Their basic bubble tea wasn't half bad either. More floral like Okinawan milk tea(?).
