**updated March 2024**After a shift in approach, this restaurant has landed on a winning combination - great Chinese BBQ (*love* the lamb skewers) as well as more traditional Szechuan food in a lively but still meal-appropriate atmosphere.Very friendly service, quite busy, they draw a regular crowd and for good reason! So give them a try!--Used to be amazing, authentic Szechuan food in a casual and friendly environment. However, in the last year, the owner has changed the atmosphere so that its more like a dive bar (dim, loud music (usually either country or rap that doesn't lend itself to conversation) so its not a nice place to go if you want to have a nice date. While the BBQ is still excellent, the other dishes have gone downhill flavour wise (blander than they used to be) which has been a huge disappointment as this used to be a favorite local place of mine.

The poorest service in restaurant, the staff here have negative attitude!!! It is my second time to come to this restaurant, I did call here to book an appointment and said I will come later, they did not save any seats for us and told me I did not tell her my name and phone number. So, I wait here for half an hour, when I finally got my seats, they get rid of us, just told us there is reservation seat for other clients, but they did not tell me before, and they asked me to come and sit in the table. In the whole process, they have a negative attitude, gave me an artificial smile and said sorry insincerely.The worst dining experience ever. This is the second time I've come here to dine and the first time I've communicated with the male boss. The whole experience was great. This time the waitress had a bad attitude throughout the whole process, with a professional fake smile. She didn't ask for my reservation number and name on the phone. When she got here, she told me that it was my problem. She didn't tell me that she had other reservations in advance. She just called me when she arrived. I said that the table would be given to me after I had finished eating. I apologized after I forgot to make a reservation, and I felt that it was natural for me to leave. The waiter was so angry that he told me in English Are you serious?? I really don’t dare to eat in a restaurant with such employees?Boss, you yourself told me last time that it was the first Chinese barbecue restaurant in Toronto. Sincerely I hope your business thrives after you fire this employee.

Taking to account the whole crazy tipping culture in North America I'm glad there are people who are not only refusing this idiotism but showing a perfect example of how it can really work in a "world of mentally healthy person". Cosy, understated and private. I love how inconspicuous this place is and the super attentive and friendly employees completed the wonderful relaxed atmosphere.The dishes served up were as appetizing to look at as they were yummy in the yummy! Prices were the most reasonable I’ve seen for the top quality served and you definitely get your fill!We were there as a party of 8 for a combined birthday celebration. Top notch everything! Thank you for the great experience!Only going to share the pic of my fav dish of the night because everyone should go and experience each dish personally! ?Vegetarian options: As this is a BBQ place, veggie options like buttered creamy enoki mushrooms, peppers and several different cooking styles for egg plant and can ordered as part of the menu.
