Worst dining experience I’ve had in Toronto!!!The server had almost no knowledge of the menu, and when we arrived on a weekend afternoon, there was only one table occupied, which was already a bad sign.
When we walked near the side door, we noticed a messy area that looked like a food storage room, dirty and completely unprofessional. Even worse😅the menu prices in the restaurant were significantly higher than the ones shown online. After we mentioned it, the waiter checked with the owner and promised to honor the original prices we saw. However, once we had finished ordering, they suddenly changed their mind and said they could only offer us a 10% discount instead.😂 It was obvious that all they cared about was profit, not customers. The owner even messaged me on social media after I posted a negative review, but once I deleted my post, they stopped replying completely. That says everything about how little they value customers’ feelings or feedback.
Finally got a chance to try this place and we ordered the hot pot with the wild mushroom soup base, as well as the small pot rice noodles and fried rice cakes. I recommend skipping the hot pot — it’s nothing special. The small pot rice noodles weren’t bad, and the sticky stir-fried rice cakes were actually pretty good. I’d come back for their stir-fry dishes. The seating was also comfortable.

We had such an amazing dining experience at Litsea in North York! The restaurant specializes in authentic Yunnan cuisine, and every dish we tried was full of unique flavors and beautifully presented.
Highly recommend the Yunnan Rice Noodle Pot, Grilled Pork Neck, Spicy Agaric Salad, and the Wild Mushroom Steam-Pot Chicken Soup, all so delicious. The Hand-Grabbed Rice is a must-try, and don’t miss their signature desserts like Pao Lu Da.
The service was attentive and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Perfect for gatherings since they also offer set menus for 6, 8, or even 18 people, plus private dining rooms.
During our visit, they even had a fun lucky draw and every table received a complimentary Yunnan mooncake, which made the night extra special.
If you’re looking for something different in Toronto and love authentic regional Chinese food, Litsea is definitely worth a visit!

Really yummy food and large portion sizes! Definitely recommend the hotpots as they already come with a large platter of meat and various sides, plus you can add more if you want. The interior is very pretty and all the staff are friendly.
My family’s first time trying Yunnan cuisine and we were surprised by the presentation and flavours. We got the dai-style rice platter and hotpot to share. The plating was beautiful and customer service was friendly. My family really enjoyed the hotpot free range chicken broth as it was flavourful.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. So authentic I’m in tears. It’s really hard to find authentic Yunnan cuisine in Toronto, and I really love how this store has the courage to tackle a good assortment of different dishes from Yunnan. We’ve been back twice over the past week. We ordered their hotpot and a couple dessert items the first time, and had fish, beef, and chicken soup the second time. Everything was super authentic and really well presented. The price and portions are good too. The staff is very friendly, and the overall atmosphere is chill. We look forward to coming back here a dozen more times.

Tucked in a quiet plaza, i did not know this place existed until my friend recommended it. Theres a weird one way ramp that goes to the back and after parking you have u loop back to the front to the main door.
Clean simple interior serving up authentic yunnan. My family really enjoyed it. Great presentation on the bridge rice noodles. Actually served on a bridge.

Food was ok but the service is terrible !!!
1. Want to sit in the bigger table but the waiter says we are expecting many people to join, however, there was no one coming in that can occupy the tables
2. Made order to the kitchen and while eating in 20mins, the waiter says one of the dishes has run out of the materials, the waiter’s attitude is terrible and irrespective. Asked the waiter that they should’ve inform us early, but the waiter replied “oh, the kitchen just said they have run out of the materials

Accidentally bumped into this resturant, the flavor of the food is quite unique. Worth of trying, recommending wa-style seasoned beef.

We recently visited a new Yunnan cuisine restaurant with a group of eight, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant offers a set menu for groups, and advance booking is required. The meal was authentic and diverse, featuring a variety of meats, sticky rice, hand-pulled rice, cold dishes, and many other Yunnan specialties. Each dish had its own unique flavor, and the variety kept the meal exciting.
The restaurant’s ambiance was spacious, beautiful, and well-maintained, perfect for both casual dining and more formal occasions. The service was excellent, and they even have private rooms that can accommodate large groups, making it a great spot for corporate events or parties.
If you’re looking for something different, this place offers a unique Yunnan culinary experience that is definitely worth trying.

I ordered their Jingpo Ghost Chicken and was beyond disappointed. Instead of the traditional hand-shredded chicken, they served big dry chunks that were tough and stringy—completely inedible, like leftover soup scraps. I called to ask if it was a mistake, but was told this is their “new version” of Ghost Chicken. Not only is it wildly inauthentic, it’s also completely ridiculous. If you’re looking for real Yunnan flavors, avoid this place.
