After coming highly recommended I ordered a custom Toy Story cake from Babs and Castles for my son’s 2nd birthday. They were so easy to communicate with from start to finish, had plenty of flavour options and completely exceeded my expectations with the design! My son was so thrilled and we will be absolutely using them again - highly recommend!

Finding a caterer for an event can be an arduous and daunting task, especially when it's for your (small & intimate) wedding. You have to pick a menu that's impressive yet affordable, determine serving & portion sizes, make sure there's enough food but not too much, timing of each course, whether to do buffet/family-style/served, being mindful of food allergies & sensitivities, etc. All while making sure it's good too! Food is one of the few things that people remember from a wedding and most of the time it’s a success if it's just mediocre. Jordy and his team were anything but mediocre. He is an extremely talented chef and it shows in a variety of ways.
We spent many hours texting and speaking with Jordy on the phone to iron out the details prior to our event. He handled my many questions professionally and with good humour. He was easy to work with, respectful and friendly. Our communication never felt transactional, I was made to feel as though he genuinely cared about creating and delivering our menu for us.
The day of, Jordy and his team provided us with a wonderful, family style dinner service for 25 people in an outdoor setting on our property. The food was spectacular. From the appetizers that his wait staff served to our guests to the main dishes and desserts homemade by Babs (his business partner & wife), everything was amazing. He even impressed the several guests with food sensitivities as he prepared, cooked & served their dishes separately.
It was honestly some of the best food we've had and it was one of the most consistent compliments we received about our wedding (along with how much food there was!). Babs homemade desserts and sweets were also wonderful and creative. Also worth noting was the professionalism of his wait staff. From the personally served appetizers during cocktail hour to the timing of the served dishes all with a pleasant and welcoming demeanour. They also cleaned up our kitchen so well it was hard to tell they had even used it all night (quite honestly he re-arranged my pots & pans better than I did). For the quality & amount of food along with the service, he was extremely affordable compared to others who promised less & were more expensive.
Jordy & Babs were fantastic. We could not recommend them more. If you're local to the Nottawa/Simcoe/Dufferin area and considering a private caterer, you have to use them.

This review is long overdue but still stands true - Jordy's private chef experience menu and dinner service went far above and beyond 5 stars! Jordy and his sous chef Paige were warm, friendly, hilarious and so wonderful and easy to work with. They made the entire experience so comfortable, we felt like we were catching up with friends over dinner.
We worked with Jordy and Paige for an intimate group dinner for 5. Our group is still raving about the food, value for money and great service we received from Jordy and Paige. Only the freshest ingredients and produce were used, and many of the ingredients were locally sourced as well. Jordy holds his work to a high standard, and it really showed with the quality of the food and the presentation as well.
Jordy also has an efficient work flow and excellent time management and troubleshooting skills. Dinner was prepared and served right on time. Jordy and Paige took care of all of the cleanup which was so appreciated by us.
Please keep in mind that this is a family business through and through. They do not have a dedicated social media or administration team answering emails, messages and calls. You are speaking to a real person at every step and turn. Patience and kindness go a long way in communication :)
We absolutely cannot wait to work with Babs and Castles again, and we highly recommend them to all of our friends, families and colleagues looking for a high quality professional chef/caterer. Thank you Jordy and Paige for a wonderful experience!

BIG DISASTER, the bread in cake is SO HARD that we couldn't even feel like it's bread and it's only creamy layer that's all we paid for...
First birthday, with lot of search and efforts, we thought found a good place to order.. But most regretting decision, worst memory for our life time.. I don't ever recommend this place..
Giving one start because, they gave the external design as we asked for.. But taste is not worth of $141.25

I moved here from Toronto to Stayner. I wanted to plan my wedding here on my farm. I thought about going out to eat since I did not know any chefs in the area. Then it hit me to ask my community via facebook. Babs and Jordy came highly recommended to me. I gave them a call and I was so excited! Their style of food looked like art on a plate. I called sometime during winter for my summer wedding. Jordy was so fun to work with and his inspirations of using fresh veg + fruit come summer to but a fresh spin on his dishes for us.His creative spin, his communication with me was hard to beat! I even had a dietary restriction last minute and he worked around that with me seamlessly. I asked Babs a while back to make me a fun cake topper for my dog (pic below) and she made the cutest cake topper by hand I could have ever asked for! I put some pictures down below of their food. To be honest pictures do not give it justice on how pretty it was in front of me. Whats that saying? To pretty to eat! - thats it! (We all scrapped our plates for every bite we could get) We left so full too! Everything had a great enjoyable flavour, meat/ sea food was literally cooked to utter perfection . I come from an Italian family of people who love to cook so this is a high compliment We did the 5 course meal with Spheres as our starter, to the Octopus +Chorizo, Scallops, Venison and french toast as our desert.
When they presented the meals to us they explained it all, and even when I came in to say good by to them they washed my dishes, cleaned up their space. I was like wow guys that was super nice thank you! - Seriously thank you :)!
Do not think twice about who you want your Caterer in the area to be this chef + baker are it! Thanks Babs and Jordy for making my food dreams come true.

Jordy did our wedding catering and Babs did our desserts. Countless people told us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had and we were left with barely any leftovers. We did the Moroccan Lamb Buffet and it was honestly incredible. We had an initial hiccup with our tasting and with some communication but in the end they pulled through and delivered an amazing experience at a very fair price. 100% recommend!
