While the food was good, it took way too long to get our food and pay for the bill. It's not like it was really busy, so not sure if it was a kitchen thing or a server thing, but it diminished the experience immensely.
The food was the highlight of our experience here. We ordered 2 pizzas - both were lovely, the star on the table was the Fettucine with green peas. The pasta was perfect. As with anywhere else these days, eating out is very expensive, but the quality of the food was worth the cost. Our server was eager and helpful - we couldn't finish the bottle of wine we ordered so he corked it for us and we took it home. Room for improvement in 3 areas: 1. Wait staff were not attentive - we ended up prompting them a few times to move things along. 2. The sound system was set way too loud and the choice of music was strange (to the point where we had to yell to hear each other across the table). 3. It was a beautiful evening and the front windows should have been open - that would have lent a whole different level to the ambiance and our overall experience.
My bday dinner . Menu and I guess cook changed from last year . Meatballs 2x more and tasteless . Salmon raw frozen in middle but was replaced. Bread toasted but cold . Server did give me a bday slice of cake and new salmon which I had to take home which is not the same as eating in a restaurant. Only one server with only 3 tables on an Thurs and owners weee absent . Maybe the owners changed. They don't answer calls Just not as good as last year .
Borgo is nicely decorated, great windows for people watching, and the staff are friendly. We had amazing service throughout the evening and didn't feel rushed. I would recommend the meatballs as an appetizer, the burrata pasta, and the orange ricotta cake which wasn't too sweet.
Novu by Borgo Antico: The location is great and the menu items seem perfect.
We went on Friday evening for a romantic dinner and although the prices were a bit high, it was a special occasion.
Upon entering, we noticed that while they were going for, in part, a romantic atmosphere, they had tv up in the bar with sports game playing and the music was loud.
They did sit us in a slightly more secluded area to adjust for that. The service was as friendly as they can be given they seemed a little short staffed. It was for this reason things seemed a little slow, but they worked very hard and deserve some credit.
We ordered the grilled octopus priced at $65 and lobster raviolo priced at $34. We expected that for $65 we would get signficantly larger portion.
The octopus dish came with only 3 medium sized tentacles, and plenty of filler like zucchini and watercress. The crispy rice was a great addition but the sauce being used as a base was very overpowering and vinegary in flavor and while it was good in the first few bites, as one ate more it became excessive. Overall, while the plate size as a meal was good, they definitely should not be charging $65 (this is a rip-off I'm sorry to say)
The lobster raviolo has a bisque sauce which was nice, but the pasta itself did not seem fresh made, and was possibly frozen. Additionally, there were pieces of lobster on top which were dried out and seemed overcooked. This could possibly be due to spending time under a heat lamp and/or not being served right away.
Also, we did order a fritto misto as an appetizer, priced $30. There were 2 shrimp, and very few calamari (which seemed overcooked). And the rest of the dish was just larger pieces of fried unknown fish. A fritto misto at this level is a very specific dish, requiring specific types of seafood and perhaps small fishes (such as fried anchovies). This did not meet those standards, and as such is overpriced for what was provided.
Finally, when the kitchen door was opened you caught glimpses of a freezer and home depot buckets. This is not something you want to make visible to diners.
Overall, this was disappointing for the price paid and the expectations, being somewhat familiar with the borgo antico name. Unfortunately, I would pass on Novu unless they make some changes.

I went here with my family for a celebration. We had a great time and all of us loved the food and the service. I would definitely recommend this place 11/10.
I definitely recommend Borgo Antico Cucina for any occasion! The traditional Italian food was so delicious, and the service was great!
We were to celebrate my friend's birthday on Saturday evening with a party of 8. We ordered shareable appetizers, and the individual mains were generous portions! We paired our mains with red and white wines (Chianti Riserva and Gavi). I especially enjoyed my Linguine Pescatore! If you love seafood, then this is the perfect dish for you!!

Great-tasting, authentic Italian food! It took a little while to be served, but it was well worth the wait. We’ll definitely be going back. Would have loved to sit outside, but it was too cold that night.
You’re only going to be paying for the atmosphere … food is below average .
If you ask for bread you’ll get 3 pieces of dry toast $5.
Octopus is more than $40 drenched in oil and no taste..seafood dish in soup is like a small appetizer for $45… no taste . We had to ask for salt just to add some taste . Went next door to Thai just to wash away the bad experience .,
Seems the new management is changing in the menu My truffle pasta almost no truffle in it On my previous visit I had the lamb chops they were 7-8 lamb chops in it This time only 4 , but same price !!!! Quality and value going down hill in only 5 months what a pity

My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time with a 6:00 PM reservation but arrived a bit early at 5:30 PM. We asked a staff member if it was okay to be seated early, and he kindly said it was no problem. A young hostess led us to our table, gave us water, and told us our server would be with us shortly. It was a bit unsettling that the restaurant was completely empty at what's typically a busy dinner hour on a Friday night. It was also too dark for my liking almost like it looked closed other than the front of the restaurant. We waited about 10–12 minutes at the table, but no one came by to take our order, even though the restaurant was empty. Eventually, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food since we never got to try it. The staff we did interact with seemed pleasant, but for us, good service is essential, and it was noticeably lacking here especially since we were the only customers. Even as we walked out, the hostess never asked why we were leaving. With so many other dining options available in that area, we're not inclined to give this place another try. That was just our experience. Not bashing just really sharing our experience.
Borgo Antico is a gem. We started with the burrata, charcuterie, and calamari—each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell there’s real care in both the food and the experience. Can’t recommend this spot enough for any occasion in the heart of Oakville.
The food was not good and overpriced. There's no reason for it to be that expensive—the place is just average, not fancy. The tables and chairs are basic, the service was okay, and the food was just okay. The pasta seemed microwaved or not fully defrosted. The pizza lacked flavor—hard to explain, but definitely not good. I've been to other Italian restaurants nearby, and they are much better.
I'm back with another review which might be against the rules but the restaurant just released a new menu and we were there for the first night. There are so many great choices with the extensive new offerings that it will take several visits to try them all. On night one the lamb spiedini was the winner!
First time at Borgo and the food and service were awesome. Appetizerss/Shareables: Grilled artichokes were tender and seasoned to perfection, and the cauliflower bites were so good. The Burrato was very good too, though the skin on the caramelized squash was a bit tough to contend with - still everything else on that platter was really good. Pasta: we had the Rigatoni and the Gnocchi - fantastic flavours, tender homemade pasta. Service: Attentive, without being intrusive. Atmosphere: a little noisy, not too bad. If you're having dinner just before sunset, you may want to avoid sitting at the very front as the sun might be in your eyes, as was our case. But we will quickly moved to another very nice table further back. We really enjoyed our meals, and will be back.
