COBS Bread Bakery Lakeshore

Yesterday I ordered just a single scone for $2.95 which was great and later noticed that they charged the full HST on an item less than $4.00. I’m pretty sure that this isn’t supposed to happen. If I go to Tim Hortons and order just a donut or bagel under the $4.00 they only charge 5% tax and not the full 13%. I’m not sure what makes Cobs have the ability to do this.

The staff are incredibly friendly, and the baked goods are always fresh and delicious. They often offer a great selection of samples, which is a nice bonus and makes the experience even better! Always a pleasure to visit this COBS location.

We stopped by today with our family on the way to Toronto and had such a lovely experience ☺️ The elderly lady behind the counter was incredibly sweet and took the time for a nice little chat, which made us feel very welcome 🤗 The cake, the bread rolls, and the pizza were all very delicious – especially for someone from Germany 😇👍🏻

We went here to get our regular sourdough but ended up trying their Raspberry Danish it was fresh out the oven and oh so delicious!! Its a go to bakery for us at Oakville downtown!!

Warm smiles and warmer buns. Visited on Easter weekend and the staff practically radiated cheer, handing out hot‑cross‑bun samples straight from the oven. I grabbed a raisin loaf. It was soft, cinnamon‑rich, and gone in a blink of an eye. Service was quick, the shop spotless, and the vibe pure happiness. Five stars for friendliness, freshness, and turning a simple bread run into a highlight of the road trip.

The service I received at the bakery this morning was disappointing. At first, I was kept waiting for about five minutes while the staff member (a senior lady) chatted with another customer in front of me, who appeared to be a friend or regular customer. I can understand because it's a local bakery. However, when it's my turn and I was the only customer at that time, the same staff member did not even offer a greeting, ask if I wanted a receipt, or wish me a nice day, very rude and cold. Why is there such a big difference in her way treating different customers? Does she only show her good manners to local customers?

I have two little ones and Kevin use to have a truck in bronte which I loved going to weekly. Now I drop by everytime I’m in the area.
