I got blocked just because I told them privately that the food wasn’t cooked properly ?

I don't even know where to start to describe this traumatic experience, the service is very poor, the food quality was very poor too and to top it up...3 of our bills had added chargers for things we never consumed..when approaching the lady/wife owner she got extremely aggressive, the husband/owner intervined and was extremely aggressive...this was horrifying # no violence # communication skills, this type of behavior cannot be tolerated..owners, staff need to remain professional and have the capability to have an interaction w customers

The atmosphere was great, and the food tasty (although the tostones were so oily we barely ate any of them). The service was not great, ordered dessert and a water as I had finished my drink, but the waitress kept forgetting about us and focusing on the tables that were ordering alcohol. We eventually got the water and dessert after multiple requests. The 20% gratuity that was automatically added to our bill was a surprise given the level of service and the fact that there were only 3 of us in our party. I understand adding it for large groups, but not for 3 people. Rating 2 stars for the tasty food and atmosphere, 0 stars for the service and the surprise 20% tip.EDITED TO ADDRESS OWNER’S RESPONSE: respectfully, I’m not surprised at the response based on the comments that I see on other reviews. We fry tostones at home, so this was not our first time having fried tostones, and I can tell you that the level of oiliness that your tostones had was unreasonable (they were unappetizing and almost translucent). We did not wait a long time to order as you state, and having a 3/4s full restaurant did not warrant being ignored in favour of tables that were ordering a lot of alcohol and us having to remind our server about or dessert and drink multiple times as she walked by our table. The level of service that we received did not warrant your server adding a 20% tip without prior notification when her service was clearly lacking.

Avoid this horrible place at all cost, the service is the worst I encounter ever, food was cold and didn’t taste fresh. I was charged for drinks that I never ordered, and when I asked for the bill to get fixed , the wife was extremely rude. She asked me a week before the reservation to send her $140 via etransfer to hold the table and she will send the money back after the reservation ,when i asked her next day for the money she said I was harassing her and will call the police. Unbelievable! This people have not clue how treat customers, they added extra items to everyone on the table, she charged me 5 extra beers and one mojito, $60 over and on top 20% tip. For the extremely poor service. What a terrible experience!!! we were a party of 14 , family group . And I still shaking , I never ever have any experience like this in my life!

LOOKOUT FOR 20% GRATUITY FEE INCLUDED IN THE BILL FOR A PARTY OF 3!I took out my mother and sister for dinner at Cuba's Restaurant for an early Mother's Day celebration for all three of us. The service has deteriorated since I was there last. We were often overlooked/neglected (patrons ordering alcoholic drinks seem to be a priority). Even though we enjoyed the food for the most part, the bill's final amount seemed unusually steep. When they gave me the receipt, A 20% GRATUITY FEE was incorporated into the final bill!!! NO HEADS UP. Nothing around the restaurant stating that gratuity was included because of pandemic recovery. DO NOT BE FOOLED, IT WAS NOT WORTH IT. I want to support my fellow Latin peoples, but this was blatant exploitation. Happy Mother's Day to us.

Appetizer was amazing (tostones) but the customer service was not great. We didn't get water despite repeated asks, patrons walked through with no masks since they knew the staff personally, the drink we ordered tasted like fish (very strange) and we now both have stomach aches. Do not recommend.

Actually have never eaten here. I heard great things about the food and would love to go, They are closed every time we want to go though. My friends have similar experience. Just wanted to post and say some of us would love to give you our money if you were open for lunch on weekends.

Small but cozy and Very family oriented…owners are so friendly and interact with you like you are family! Good authentic Cuban food…great drinks and reasonably priced! Call for their weekend life music…they always have some sort of entertainment! It’s a fun place with good food!! One of my favourites:)

I give one star because no choice. The worst meal ever i paid for and on top of that they chage meal that we never ate. DON'T GO THERE

Stay away and if you go keep track of what you order and how many drinks , don't trust the waitress she added drinks and expresso for the singer , we had a total of 4 pitcher's of draft plus 4 mohitos and 2 shots and to carbonated waters total price 588.00 we discussed the bill with the owners the cook and one of the waitress witch is his wife and they said that their waitress said we had order lots of drinks behind our wife's back
( not true ) went there two weeks prior and we truly had a great time , but now not returning and don't recommend......

I stumbled across this place on my way home from work. Its looked lively so I walked in and , I was not disappointed amazing staff great music and very tasty food. Lardy bringing friends here.

Bad on all levels.
Bad food: old rice, cold steak.
Drinks: Virgin Cuba libre and mojito.
Service: horrible. Had to ask for water twice since only one out of 8 got. We were the only table being served.
Music: some dude with a karaoke machine singing covers.
Price: for the amount paid, I could've gone to a steak house and have a great meal.

All this on a Saturday evening. No follow through... Didn't come ask if we wanted more drinks, dessert... Honestly, don't go, save your money. All great reviews look like they were made by close friends.

Update and to clarify: I was born and raised in Havana and lived there until the age of 19 (I believe that makes me Cuban enough. I just don't carry my passport around in order to prove my Cuban citizenship).
I didn't finish my food since I left all the rice on the plate.
We might've been a little loud (nothing crazy though) since there were no other customers in the restaurant from 8pm to 12.
In retrospect, the singer did have a good guitar solo that we applauded to.
I thought the owners would use the review in a constructive way instead of taking the time to reply with lies.
Take this as a review from an unsatisfied group of customers and arrive to your own conclusions if you go.

Great owners, excellent food, good portions at a fair price and a very traditional & genuine atmosphere & environment.

Horrible experience...poor service...extremely expensive...additionally they charge for attracting the singer and to top it off they impose 15% of the tip...I don't recommend it!
