The menu and the atmosphere look like typical american dining. I gave 2 to atmosphere, cause my expectations were a bit different from the pictures seen on google. But Nothing special. I d say the food is very low quality. Pancakes are like stale bread not a pancake texture for sure. Maple syrup is overly sweet low quality one. I had Benedict and cheese was likely powder made. Everything is cheap american dining. Even though the place wasn’t full, service was very slow to respond. Also almost no healthy options in the menu. Everything is very heavy.

El Spero is an authentic hidden gem. Between the delicious food, the warm people, cleanliness, and the cozy family-owned atmosphere, the whole experience was unforgettable. I was in town from Boston for a wedding and felt lucky to stumble across this spot — it’s the kind of place you hope to find when you travel.
I noticed right away that they serve all-day breakfast, and everything on the menu looked so tempting. I had the Mediterranean omelette, homemade carrot cake, and couldn’t resist and got myself the coconut cream pie too. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned — true comfort food and the menu had so many amazing portions.
What stood out most was the people. My waitress, Sarah, was incredibly kind and extremely attentive above and beyond, and Don even stopped by my table to personally introduce himself and greet me, say thank you, and check in. They need to have more Sarah’s and Dons in restaurants and management. That kind of welcoming, family-owned service is so rare today — it truly felt like being invited into someone’s home. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there, and the food came out hot and delicious.
El Spero has that rare, cozy, family-owned charm where the staff truly care about every guest. I’ll definitely be back and will be telling my snowbird friends from Naples and Southwest Florida — especially those that live in the Toronto area too — to make this a stop whenever they’re home. El Spero is outstanding: the perfect mix of amazing food, genuine people, and family-owned hospitality.
A family-owned spot this welcoming and delicious makes you wish every hometown had one — I’d go every day.

A great place for all day breakfast. This restaurant has been run by the same family for many years.
Since they have changed their beef dip to beef brisket the quality is horrible. I got one tonight and it was 95% fat. Inedible. This happened last week as well. Never again will I order from them.

We came for breakfast on a quiet Sunday morning around 9am. The food was great, and the place wasn’t busy, which was nice.
Unfortunately, the lady who was serving our table seemed barky, rushed and unwelcoming. She had a very abrupt manner and even though the restaurant was mostly empty, we felt like she was rushing us. It made the experience tense, especially for the 10 year old in our group, who was too intimidated to ask for a simple apple juice. After the server left, she whispered, “She’s scary.”
I’m sharing this not to criticize harshly, but in hopes it might lead to some thoughtful training. A little warmth could really elevate the overall experience.
Would I go back? Absolutely but I hope we have a different server or a better version of this lady.
