Stopped by here for a quick greasy spoon breakfast while having my car serviced across the road and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and friendly service.

My classic 2 eggs and 3 sausage breakfast was garnished with some fresh fruits on the side (see my pic) which made it a colourful plate.

Be sure to ask for the excellent home made hot sauce! See my pic!

I asked for hotsauce and the server who was super friendly offered me 2 different Mexican type sauces which added to the taste.

Not much to add other than I'll stop by here again when I am in the area.

Update! Stopped by here again and had another great breakfast here!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. i am Extremely disappointed with the service that I received at this diner I ordered cheesy garlic bread, expecting to get actual garlic bread but instead I got plain bread with disgusting old cheese. do not come here it is disgusting. I had food poisoning. It was bad.

Second time I've ordered from here and gotten something disappointing like this. A shame, because it used to be good. Won't be ordering again.

Been here a few times in the past couple months - the breakfasts are always delicious including the fruit & homemade hot sauce. Server is lovely - she's always friendly, welcoming & quick to refill coffees no matter how long we stay.

This gem of a place is somewhat hidden in between the big signs of other places but what an amazing place it is. Very relaxing atmosphere even though it’s on a busy intersection of Fourth line and Speers Road. Food is great. Not greasy like some other chains with good quality ingredients, you can tell that in every bite. Service is great as well. Fresh eggs (yes you can tell), thick bacon and perfect potato wedges everything was just awesome. Their pancakes hit different too, feels more home style than big chain bulk batter made.

I have enjoyed the 50's diner for many years and coincidentally, always wanted to sample Matchu picchu. I was afraid I would not be able to when they closed further down the road.As soon as I realized that Matchu P was re opened and operating 50s.... I know I wanted to give it a try...One of the other posts was about the hot chicken sandwich, and I have to tell you, I wish I had read it first because since then it's only gotten worse .I asked if the kitchen that prepared this, was it the same as the other side (Matchu P. ) ? and he assured me it was .so...anyone who would plate that and serve it to a customer is not in anywhere qualified to be in a restaurant where I want to eat.To basic sandwiches that were both wrong ( for every reason ) but the fries were good for $50.

It greatly pains me to say this, but the fifties diner has sadly taken a decline to the worst. Since it has been taken over by new management. Waited over an hour to get our food. Our toast came first and it was old, cold and dry. Albeit, they did give us new toast, when asked. There was 3 different coloured hairs in out food. And each from a different person. Because they were different colours/shades. But at that point, we were so frustrated and upset. We just wanted to eat, and get out of there. To my great regret. I won't be going there again. The fifties diner used to be an amazing place to go eat and enjoy great atmosphere. My wife and kids had never been there. And it was crushing to see them upset and hungry

I ordered the two fish and chip meal. When it came I got one fish not two. The fish was not at all worth the money. The gravy look like mud.
